Technically, it's more that the only thing we've seen get affected by the curse in the Abyss are humans and Nanachi. The Value Village Narehate might be affected by it since they life in a place that specifically does not have a forcefield.

We know it doesn't affect Abyss wildlife, but we have no idea what it does to animals from elsewhere in the world. The bit about the fish here makes me think that it does affect pretty much anything from the surface.

If the answer is no, and that he needed Prushka as well. Does this mean that 1 single person can give a Blessing AND turn into a white whistle? A 2 for 1 deal?

And finally, I figured the white whistle would have inevitably been for Bondrewd, since she loved him the most I figured, but in the end she turned into a white whistle for Riko instead. Does this mean she loved Riko more than her Dad in the end? Would seem kinda far fetched if that was the case. Or is it just about the very last thought she had in her mind before the curse hit her, which was about going on an adventure, with Riko leading?

All caught up with the manga and just started watching the anime, seen 2 episodes so far.

The Aussie-produced soundtrack is clearly above average, although a bit too busy sometimes. The OPs and EDs are the kind of cheerful moe-crap you'd expect from any modern anime, and not fitting at all. However, I've seen stuff before where these are used in an "ironic" way in dark shows, maybe that's what they're aiming for further down the road.

Also, you can really tell that they're going to shill Nanachi HARD for merchandise, going as far as spoiling her appearance and even her future relationship with Reg and Riko in the ED. As if the viewers couldn't even be bothered to keep watching unless there's a cute bun up ahead.

They threw around the order of the first few chapters, but I'd say it's for the better, since it would take too long to get started otherwise. The pacing is about as slow as people say. However, slow pacing is not the same thing as boring. An episode is over in a flash before really getting anywhere, and I'd say 40 or even 60 minute episodes would be much better at this pace. Too bad that 20 minutes is the universal standard for anime.

Tsukushi's pedolust has been toned down significantly, both from what we're shown, and how the characters react to certain situations.

Most delvers are actually actice vetween the 1st-5th levels, so they would have access to resupply.
And it's not like they'd shoot everything in sight. Having ranged firepower seems essential against some of these beasts.

Well, it's interesting when you get down to thinking about delver gear; almost none of them carry handheld weaponry. Anything that can be used for offensive capabilities either has multiple purposes (Blaze Reap is primarily a digging tool that has enough power to function as a makeshift weapon) or is compact enough to be mounted (Ozen's implanted pins, all of Bonedad's weapons were either mounted on his forearms or helmet).
It seems that unless delvers were specifically going on hunter-killer missions (like the Moon Whistles hunting for meat on layer 1, and the Praying Hand assigned with eradicating the bugs on layer 4), carrying weaponry would be considered burdensome, especially since it'd be more ideal to simply avoid the psychic monsters whenever possible. Their primary purpose is gaining as much loot and knowledge from the Abyss as possible, after all.

Every fucking time this stupid gun question pops up I swear to god.

First, consider tech level. I don't think we've seen a firearm in the manga; we've seen crossbows and dart launchers, and we've seen lasers and shit. Most of Orth's scientific progress has been stagnated by relying on relics they don't really understand, so even though the city has been around for over 1900 years, their tech is not really early 1900's equivalent. Some things are contemporary, a lot of other things aren't.

Second, even if they could make guns, again considering tech level, they'd either be muzzle loaders or early breech loaders. Slow firing, noisy, heavy, and ammo would be relatively simple; either non-uniform shit they ramrod down a barrel, or very very early standardized cartridge designs.

Third, the Abyss is huge and full of huge monsters. It's not about them being impregnable to firearms, it's about the logistics of the number of shots required to kill anything. The most dangerous things we've seen on the 5th layer or above were either a swarm of insects or a giant flying snake the size of 18 wheeler. A relatively primitive firearm would be not at all effective against things like that.

Fourth, breaking concealment. We've seen delvers find ways to avoid fighting most Abyss wildlife, like vomit torches for the 5th floor scorpions, or how the Scarlet Maw is attracted to artifacts over people. In an environment as naturally dangerous and difficult as the Abyss, announcing to everything within earshot exactly where you are is not a good course of action unless you're in an emergency or are sure you can handle it.

Finally, the people of Orth have been delving for nearly two millennia. If firearms were an effective tool, we would see them everywhere. Habo would've had them, the Praying hands would've had them, Ozen's scouts would've had them, people walking around on the surface would've had them, etc. Either they exist and aren't worth using, or they don't exist.

Let's assume that the predators in the Abyss are at least as resilient and a lot more vicious than an elephant here on earth. We don't even know if firearms have reached the point where they're considered practical in tight situations in the MiB world (here on earth it wasn't until the late 1800's, and an even more rapid development took place around WW1).

Going up and down several kilometers, even though Reg and Riko make it look easy with his extendable arms, that's a crazy amount of vertical movement. In real life that would take several days or weeks, without taking the curse into account. As this >>161166638 anon mentioned, they have more important stuff to do, and simply being skilled enough to avoid the predators seems a lot more efficient than lugging around heavy firearms that have a big risk of not even being effective.

Guns require ammo and get fucked hard by environment as tough as the abyss. Artifacts are better as weapons. Bondrewd uses artifact weapons and those shit as strong as fuck. He also has some conventional weapons such as flame thrower for his crew

To be efficace against monster in the Abyss you need at least a semi automatic gun, an early 20th century tech stuff so not possible in MiA world which is closer from early 19th.
