>Guy "saves Japan" by injecting massive amounts of money into the market to prevent total collapse.
>Ends up leveraging the entire future as collateral and disintegrates the economy and all possible growth.
How much knowledge of economics do I need in order to enjoy this show?
>>161145032
Having any will lower your enjoyment
>>161143599
Yes, you fuck, that's the plotline and it criticizes it. Specifically Abenomics; it's strength being is that it can float out recessions, but it really stymies growth (and overall it's vaguely a loser's gamble from the get-go to minimize losses with the expectation of no gains in the future).
Though the solution of pegging Japan to the USD is stupid.
She tempts my Moral Hazard by Revealing her Preferences. My Demand rises slowly as she takes off her Externalities. I start by feeling up her Firm Assets, working down her Long-Run Utility Curves, reaching her Private Goods, and down into her Depression. I begin my Input-Output Business Cycle. Priming the Pump with my Invisible Hand, I break down her Barriers to Entry with my Perfectly Inelastic Commodity, Inject my Liquidity into her Circular Flow, and fill her up with my Gross Domestic Product. There is Leakage everywhere of my Producer Surplus.
>>161145032
It's less about knowing economics, and knowing Japanese politico-economic context.
A large part of the show is a critique of PM Abe's Abenomics policy with otaku-flavoring (and assorted dispersals of economics academic terms thrown in as shonen-esque attack names, e.g. CA-CA-CA-CANNIBALIZATION!).
You should marathon it; it sucks as discrete weekly episodes, but the series itself is pretty clever for what it is. It has roughly about as much intelligence as Youjo Senki (which is to say, about as much as a mature high schooler could handle/know), but handles context and portrayal of its themes much less heavy-handedly.
It's a fun ride, with cute girls and a very, very interesting setting.
>>161145333
Also, do know that there was an entire battle handwaved (akin to the Girls und Panzer Anzio battle in the main series) to its ending, and the final arc was rushed and weird as hell (if really, really hype).
Worth a watch all the same, like most NoitaminA anime.

nice
She compromise my principle
That kind of love is mythical
She's anything but typical
She's a craze you'd endorse
she's a powerful force
You're obliged to conform when there's no other course
Her loving is so powerful,
It's simply unavoidable
The trend is irreversible
The woman is invincible
She's a natural law
and she leaves me in awe
She deserves the applause, I surrender because
She used to look good to me.
She's so fine, there's no telling where the money went.
She's all mine, there's no other way to go
She's unavoidable, I'm backed against the wall
She gives me feelings like I never felt before
I'm breaking promises, she's breaking every law
She used to look good to me.
Her methods are inscrutable
She's so completely kissable.
I'm not jewish enough to affectionately love money

>>161147339

>>161147227
Alright, here's how this works:
By reversing the press, the present is forced to pay back the loans taken for the future.
This is a net positive for the people of Japan. Even though there was a correction that apparently was serious enough to destroy the Yen, life goes on: No one other than the old guard are significantly affected. His friend is mentally sound and happy, and it's implied that all the decay from Souichirou's borrowing has been reversed.
Yoga finds himself in a completely different world: A world where he has a future not leveraged for power in the present. It's meant to be uplifting that he can move on from here and discover what Mashu represents in his future. He comes away from the experience wiser, and can continue on a similar path with a newfound respect for his fortune and the sacrifices that must be made to build a sound future.
>>161147460
>>161147662
This is an important point however: All it takes to reopen the FD is for someone to decide to leverage the future on the present.
On an optimistic note, this means working together, the people of Japan can avoid selling out their country and instead leave a future for their progeny.
On the opposite note, all it takes is one person like Souichirou to decide to hold onto the status quo... and we're right back to paying interest on our future.

>Talking about Abenomics
The REAL critique of the show in my opinion lies with the Bank of Japan's absolutely lunatic monetary policy. It's a much more direct parallel as well, as the BoJ essentially injects vast quantities of money into stock market to prevent "collapse" but in doing so necessitates the generation of a vast quantity of debt i.e., leveraging the future through debt servicing.

This is really a global problem at this point. We should have been building Universal Century sides in the 90s if we wanted to keep this economic practice up for more than another couple of decades.

It wasn't a solution, Japan's currency was just worthless so they adopted the dollar, but it's a nightmare waiting to happen as the only way the US avoided [C] was to quantitative ease but on a much bigger scale.
