His backstory in Hana ruined him for me to be honest. Nothing wrong with it being sad, that's not the point. In a series filled with characters dealing with actual trauma, the grumpiest character in the entire series ended up being too pathetic for me to take him seriously anymore. Even Araragi's ridiculous self-hatred is atleast rooted in inadvertantly fucking Sodachi's life up and not realizing until it was too late.

Actually, where was Araragi's emotional growth on his relationship with Hitagi? It seemed one-sided in Bake. Like, Crab says "I love you, let's date" and he's like "ok". And what's next? Where's the premise? The actual feelings?
