What did /a/ think of this movie? I just saw it last night and

It really was great, but the effect lessens on a second watch.

it had a very slow start with peculiar pacing and the animation wasn't great but i thought it presented a good contrast between ordinary life vs her life when the war started reaching the acme.

i think the scene at the end with the child's mother felt really tacked on and grotesque just for the sake of being evocative

It reminds me of Nichijou, if it was in Pre-WW2 Japan and the insanity was toned down.
