What does /a/ think of tsugumomo?
The manga, not the disappointingly poor anime.
while the anime was poor i'd never know about the manga if not for it, so I have to be a little thankful. i wanted to see what happened at the end of episode 3 bad so I decided to seek the manga, and lo and behold what awaited me was a series with god tier art, good fight scenes, humor i enjoyed, and glorious fucking ecchi and lewdness.
This is in my top ten no questions asked, my only thing i don't like about it is waiting a month for new chapters (but i don't think it'd work as a weekly)
It's pure shit. It's like Tenchi Muyo, but somehow manages to be even more vapid. It's softcore porn and that's all people "read" it for. Even worse, the mangaka cannot draw a female body to save his life. He draws male bodies and attaches tits to them, they look like fucking trannies.
y-yeah just softcore porn nobody reads it for the good art and f-fight scenes...
He had this storyline in mind from the beginning. All that's really changed is the details and pacing; he's taking the time to give the story enough room to grow. He burned himself out on battle in the Mayoiga/Kanaka arc, and gives himself ecchi breaks to balance things out. (And flashbacks to keep his favorite girls in the loop. So many bubbles…)
Plus: It looks like he might be gearing up for a less-censored edition at some point.
mangeka is moving into a mansion so there will be some short delays
>comfy monster of the week ecchi shenanigans
The manga got much better when they dropped that sort of nonsense and decided to have plot and drama. Before that the only reason people read it was to masturbate.
> comedy with fights, lewd and serious stuffs
> comedy with fights, lewd and serious stuffs
The setting and main cast changed, but aside from that, hardly anything else.
The art is good and the fights are fun for a bit, but then they all turned into the exact same shit. Every tsugumomo has the exact same attacks. BIG PUNCH WEAVE SHIELD DRILL CUT, the only thing that has been different is the chain cage shit. The softcore porno stuff is ok, but I really am beyond tired of the neutered vegetarian baby boy garbage in manga.
I dropped the manga, never watched the anime. None of the characters really stood out to me, typical spineless beta MC with a bitchy main girl who hits him all the time.
The art is nice but that's about it.
From what I understand, he streams himself drawing sometimes, and anons screencap them.
That wouldn't work at all proportions wise. And no, check his videos, he shows doing them from nothing.
The thing you're thinking about was one time where he bought a complicated dress, took the pose and traced the dress while drawing Kiriha instead of him.
Tough recently, I remember him putting photos of Samurai poses on the wip pages in the streams for the next Sunao incoming fight, not sure if he traced over them or not, he probably changed the proportions at least.
anime is good
Kukuri's voice is the cutest
managed to get to chapter 55 of the manga but I'm feeling kind of underwhelmed
once you've seen them all naked a dozen it kind of loses it's luster
It was enjoyable for a while, but then crammed in a bunch of shit I hate.
>parent is the main bad guy
>deaths that mean nothing because you know they'll be revived
I might pick it up in a few years, but I'm not really interested in where the story is going.
I miss the big titted bird
>deaths that mean nothing because you know they'll be revived
Yeah, they're TOTALLY coming back r-right?
>>deaths that mean nothing because you know they'll be revived
Anon its been 3 years now, that's 30% of the total run time this manga had so far. Just let her go for the better.
I didn't realize it had been so long since it had happened. I only read the series around a year ago. It still doesn't change that everything is in place for them to be revived after he defeats his mother though.
You probably speedread, but theres a page where Kiriha explains if the gets serious injuries in human form she ded. And if her cloth form takes damage such as rip it apart or burn it to ashes shes gone forever too.
Reminder that Kazuya wants to powerful every girl he's seen nude, but knows enough about women to understand that fucking any of them would ruin his friendships with all of them (and his life of free handjobs and "just the tip" shenanigans).
He's not some simpering Tenchi-clone; every single girl he likes/likes him has seen and/or played around with is cock to make him cum.
Stones don't make a god. Stones are given to gods for them to protect. It just happens the only way you can take the stone is to kill the god. Kukuri is probably dead for good. I was actually shocked when it happened.
He draws ineffectively for 12h a day.
The reader maybe spends 12 seconds watching this page yet he spends ages drawing it. He could prioritize plot over detailed art and please more people.
Yoshi is talking on his stream how its hell to work for Serializations, Jump IE. Since editors can skew what the author / artist truly wanted to do for a series turning it into something else entirely.
He is though it has been years since that spread, and Yoshi has learned how to draw more efficiently, if you were to tune into some of his streams you would notice how fast he draws some pages.
Some authors are just not comfortable with delegating work to other people. I think Nihei mentioned in an interview that people have preferences and varying ability in regards to what to draw, so assistants might do something in a way that the author doesn't like.
Assistants also refine rough sketches, draw backgrounds, etc. Oftentimes the original manuscript is just paneling with outlines of the characters, the rest is done by assistants.
All of this can be done digitally, and arguably even easier than with physical drawing.
Murata's three assistants does all their work digitally.
There is plenty to do even digitally, like simply modeling the background >>161117337 for example, there is no creativity for that.
This is kinda what puts me off about the series as a whole. He's already ruined the purity of basically every girl he's met so far, the only right thing to do is marry every single one of them.
Assistants have to be paid by the Author. A Mangaka's studio is quasi a company that usually operates in the red until the Tankobon get's released. If he foregoes Assistants he needs to sell less to reach break-even.
(The Publisher can decide not to publish a Tankobon, though in that case the Author can try to get a different Publisher & Distributor for that volume. That might not work out if the original Publisher puts pressure on the Distributor.)
It's why the Western version of Feminism doesn't exist in Japan. They realized that they could game the traditionalist system to do whatever they want, because it would be shameful for a man to be out preformed by his wife and even MORE shameful for him to not be able to provide for everything she asks for, because that would imply he isn't a good enough worker. And since salarymen have to work away from home for long periods of time, she's basically got free room and board in a house someone else pays for that she can do whatever she wants in.
>ruined their purity
With the TECHNICAL exceptions of Chisato and Sunao (who wanted that dick deep inside them when it was go time), not a single one of those girls was originally pure. A lot of them had already been fucked by Kazuya's mom anyway.
Not only Kanaka is a molester.
Weird how theres zero adult male molesters who are supposed to the good guys.
It's because he knows that people are reading it for the sex comedy of "Tenchi, but Ryoko literally jerks him off everyday, while Sasami and Ayeka flick their beans in plain view of it". Having good guy molesters would turn it into an average hentai, and no one wants to see Kazuya held down while some ugly as fuck Amasogi rapes one of the girls. I'm even willing to bet that he does girl's only molesting because no one thinks of it as "real" molesting.
This whole sequence made me really uncomfortable. Like, when it was a goofy joke that Kanayama was a creepy lolicon it was okay, but seeing her unabashedly jam her fingers inside of an incapacitated Kukuri during what should be pretty serious moments was not as funny.
The author really shouldn't have done the gender swap chapters, because now I can't get the idea of "If the genders were always reverse, this would be a manga about a magical girl who's constantly raped by ever guy she knows" outta my head.
I'm admittedly not very far into the manga, so I don't know how much worse or better they get, but the mind-control segments also upset me for a similar reason of it feeling like straight up rape. Although moreso that in those instances it feels even worse because everyone leaves upset and violated feeling.
Americans tend to self-censor their own thoughts because they're shit scared of being considered a pedo.
You should've seen some reactions to the ch89 when the old man molested granny, people are ridiculous hypocrites.
I just find it odd that, with the genders reverse, boy-Kiriha doesn't just finger girl-Kazuya (as would be normal with their regular genders), he just straight up rapes her. And not comedicly rapes her, either. Kazuya stays pissed at her for it and that's part of why he uses her as just a straight up tool at one point, which she stayed mad at him for nearly all the way up until she died.
It used to be one of my favorites, but I quickly lost interest after what happened to Kukuri and Kiriha. The lame possession stuff happening again and again with the flute as well as that tournament being announced was the nail in the coffin for me, and I haven't touched it since. According to what I've heard, not much has changed since then, so I see no reason to pick it up again.
Never seemed to be a problem with Kiriha before. The only time I think they ever showed her get anything sexual out of Kayuza herself was a side chapter where he's washing her pussy and she moans when he goes over her clit.
Yeah, I don't really get how you can get that creeped by the old man molesting that fails hard in the extra chapter, that shit was fucking hilarious, and especially since we're talking about Tsugumomo where molestation is a near chapterly occurence. The hypocrisy is off the charts.
>boy-Kiriha doesn't just finger girl-Kazuya (as would be normal with their regular genders), he just straight up rapes her.
Well, that happens after a whole day of build up, and that's his only chance to do it, see it that way.
Kiriha was abused by Kanaka and toddler Kazuya so she was punishing Kazuya for that or it just gave her thrills to dominate over him after he lost his memories.
I suppose most female abuse is to get mental satisfaction rather than physical release.
I almost feel now that the author wrote out the Shrine gang because you can make a case that all of the sex hijinxs come from everyone being stockholmed by a fucking rapist. Because, aside from definitely being a sociopath, Kanaka's only way of bonding with ANYONE was molestation.
Go into any Made in Abyss general and you see the same thing, 1/4 of the posts are spent whinging about child abuse or sexulization as if they are moral champions for opposing it.
Its just that in general Yoshi is bad at drawing feet relative to everything else.
> there is plenty of creativity in modeling an existing structure as accurately as possible.
No. I myself do 3D, something like that is the opposite of creative.
I was talking about the gym room mind you. Something like the tournament place is already more creative, but still not all that much, the ship of Mayoiga would already be more interesting.
Yoshikazu could just give them sketches or guide them about it, he could totally give this kind of work to someone else, or at least the least creative ones.
>there will never be a western release because it'll be tagged "child pornography"
>we will never see the series released in full uncensored glory
Are the French into manga more than the Americans? Don't they have lax censorship laws?
setting was generic but it was still well done and there was already the lewdness and Kiriha's character that made it much more interesting than the usual "generic" series with this setting.
>Are the French into manga more than the Americans? Don't they have lax censorship laws?
Meanwhile in Germany:
The Aunt & Cousin in Minamoto-kun Monogatari got downgraded to make things easier for the publisher. Even if those relationships are legal in Germany.
I guess Tsugumomo is out of the question. ;_;
(unless published by leftists)
It's more about being embarrassed about everyone seeing them nude rather than their size. She was seemingly fine with Kazuya seeing her nude.
And what's the problem with the face?
The series isn't available in France either tough. Don't think it ever came out of Japan.
Still, with the recent Anime maybe there is a chance. The ecchi series with that loli vampire is available, so why the hell not.
Cant get what you want always.
Just tune into the stream.
Found the title, it was dance in the vampire bund, from what I remember there were lots of nude and naked legal loli.
Niche doesn't means much for french release. There was a recent series I read the other day that was 3 volumes long, it seemingly got cancelled, and it doesn't have any english (or other) online scans. It's definitely WAY more niche than Tsugumomo who got an Anime.
It's really just about being more or less lucky for french official releases, like for example Cage of Eden still ended up coming out way after the end of the series in Japan (and series was more than 20 volumes long, so something like Tsugumomo who has less than that wouldn't so much of a problem), and it's not like it had anything like an Anime it back it up, it just ended up happening.
Still, some series still ends up pretty badly in France, I was following Hakaiju but the editor began releasing it at nail pace at some point to totally drop it halfway in the end, I had to buy the digital jap volumes to read the rest. From what I heard that's still pretty rare tough.
I read it for the story and battles, I just enjoy battle shounen that uses youkai or spirits in their story, I loved Shaman King and early Bleach for the same reason.
The ecchi fanservice is just a nice extra.
>4chan as a whole is pretending to be hard alt-right constantly
>Still are mad that masturbating to lolis is illegal, but know better than to go in the court of law and argue their rights for it.
Pedophilia is the only type sexuality thats really still being repressed by goverments in the west. Even in this thread people wonder is it legal for tsugumomo to be published in their countries because of the way things are. So you can say they are persecuted.
>so when people are disgusted by it
If people really dont like MIA or Tsugumomo no ones forcing them to consume them.
>Even worse, the mangaka cannot draw a female body to save his life.
Probably one of the dumbest opinions I've ever seen. Actually, I can't even consider it an opinion. It is an objectively wrong perception of reality. You are an idiot and should be ashamed.
It's good. The current, generic-as-fuck tournament arc notwithstanding, it's genuinely good. It's like To Love-Ru but not horrible. Shows what you can do with a story when it isn't filthy haremshit.
He has a video somewhere that's a time lapse of him creating that room. A crazy amount of effort went into it.
(Although the video did make me notice that the background characters are completely ignoring the shadows :-/ )
