The next episode's going to be interesting simply because of Suruga's gambit.

She's going off the assumption that he'll act exactly the way she's written him. She has him down to the point where she can recite his lines before he says them, but a core part of the show was the creations evolving from the characters they existed as.

Blitz might just play along only to backstab the creators. It depends entirely on how badly he wants to save his daughter properly, and Suruga is cruelly banking on him wanting to do that above all else. For all we know, Blitz might be fine with dying as long as he makes sure Suruga's dead first. It's the sort of mentality a character from a setting like his would have.

Personally, I hope he has the last laugh. Fem-Urobuchi Gen has it coming, especially after that open tirade about doing anything to keep readers engaged and interested. It's great from a writer's point of view, but it's not going to earn sympathy from someone who's suffering at the hands of that attitude.

In this case, Blitz didn't become an outright psychopath. He's a gritty detective, but putting a bullet in his own daughter's head proved he's willing to do the right thing at the end of the day, even if it kills him on the inside.

The real problem is that this is absolutely a gray situation. He outright calls her a devil among the gods and she goes and gives him a legit devil deal offering him his dead daughter back. IMO, him choosing to stay loyal to Altair because she is there, her own person, and not slaved to her creator would be a hell of a character beat and fitting to the archetype of his world, as well as a statement that he wouldn't forgive Suruga for what she's done to him, no matter what amounts of bullshit she's willing to pull to "make it up" to him.

What Suruga did is to essentially demonstrate that his every whim can be controlled. I think the philosophical quandry of free will can be explored and typically people test it by doing something very gruesome and shit. Although, I don't think that Blitz is the type of person to kill his daughter. But I think he will try and covertly help Altair out because he thinks that Suruga is a fucking psycho.

I think that Suruga is putting on an act because she thinks that the best way of motivating Blitz is to basically hold his daughter, but I don't think this is necessarily how she actually thinks. If I was a creator in this show, I would never be able to pick up a pen again knowing that what I did had real effects, but if the world was going to end because of Altair I would probably lie, cheat and emotionally manipulate.

What I'm saying is that, I don't believe that Suruga will act on the implicit threat to hurt Blitz's daughter, but I think that Blitz thinks that Suruga will. Which gives a good the conflict that this show keeps foreshadowing, Altair tells Blitz not to intervene, Blitz is still concerned about Altair and Suruga is not going to simply hang onto Blitz's daughter for the sake of nothing to happen. Blitz isn't simply going to stop being apart from the narrative, characters don't typically fade away like that.

I think that the most likely course that will occur is that Blitz finds a way to help Altair and expects Suruga to retaliate but nothing happens or else it turns out that his daughter is hentai girl and he gets really fucking mad and helps Altair and after Altair is defeated Suruga reveals that she was going to help him get his daughter back anyway.

And I think that Altair's resolution is not to destroy the world but to bring back Setsuna and if it isn't that Soda will help Altair see that.

Without any character background given in the anime we can only assume Charon/Selesia are comparable to other couples from a similar genre like Kirito/Asuna. Asuna is a skilled fighter but when she gets into situations over her head Kirito usually shows up to save her. All Servants have a mana consumption factor, but without Hangaku active I think he'd be one of the lowest consumers and that's IF he doesn't have a huge mana pool of his own since Hangaku usually relies on his stamina (like Medea didn't need much from Kuzuki, though, that was due to being a Magus).

And let's be honest: Yuya is pretty damn good on his own, which we're getting to see more and more now, barely touching the tip of the iceberg that is his upgraded weapon.
