The best thing about Flat is the fact that despite his backstory being really dumb shit that can easily be a bad mary sue backstory, he's relegated to being a side character in other works, and in this one, is written by a writer who tends to share development time more properly between leads.

Mary Sue doesn't mean potentially strong character, Mary Sue means flawless character who only exists to be fellated by everyone, and even the few "flaws" they have are not actually flaws but rather only exist to make them seem more beautiful. Its basically a type of author's insert character, but it could be extended to certain type of authors pet characters.

Arthuria is much closer to being a mary sue; fucking everyone loves her including the people that hate her, the one knight who ever admonished her in life really loves her more than anything and regrets saying anything bad about her more than anything, the one knight who was a traitor originally actually loves her more than anything, the other knight who was a traitor actually loves Arthuria more than life itself, her only flaw is that she cares about Camelot and the world TOO much which makes her only come across as "More pure and beautiful", she has all of the strongest weapons in history and is stronger than anything and too pure and strong and flawless ruler.

Flat is the opposite; he's got a lot of talent out the ass, but he's flawed as shit in every other way except for being talented. He's a fucking idiot.
