Nigger, I've been reading UQ Holder since chapter fucking 1.I kept saying "It's only the start, it'll get better" "It's still in the 'introduction arc' stages, it'll get better" and indeed at some point it seemed like it was getting its shit together and was finally going to run into something else for a change.

Then Dana came. And Eva seriously considering Touta. And new haremettes that happen to resemble characters from the old cast. And then everyone from Negima was back except now they're evil.

It's like Akamatsu slowly realised he couldn't actually develop these new characters, so he went "fuck it" and threw in the old cast everyone wanted back, only to save face they all have to be evil now.

Baki Dou is the worst entry in a stagnating series. Read the original until the translations drop off. If you keep up with Dou you will be very disappointed as there are only two good fights and not much else.

Stakes are only minimalized if someone strong comes into play, Garou only had a bit of trouble with DS and Flash before he showed up and the strongest heroes are pretty much weakened since that fight
Garou decreases(not increases) in power mid-fight because he fucked up, GS and Boros use transformations as abilities but they're pretty unique from the rest of the cast
Garou's aim was to scare the shit out of people and he was "really soft" according to Saitama, hence why he fucked around so much.
Before Saitama came out of the rubble you could've lost s bunch of characters, the real danger of that mess was that it fractured the HA regardless. Before je showed up, story could've gone GoT if it wanted to, but Garou was soft on the inside.
Factually, Garou might've been invalid, but he personally considered himself logical.
Saitama came there because his house got fucked, if you're talking about his hobby then it's more "I have no future in life, might as well fullfill my dream"

re-reading OP and I forgot how good the fights are. great choreography, clever use of powers, dynamic art, and the terrain is always an element of the fight.

Rest of your post is "what if, what if", guess what, what if we took into account the manga and not your fanfic version?
The only way anybody dies in opm if One gets a stroke like oda and decides to make shitty serious arc mid way.
In the end Saitama would come and win, its more about making up stupid reasons why he isnt there than anything.
The manga still lacks any stakes and any reason to care.
When it tries to do anything other than comedy it falls flat on its face, not to mention the premise isnt compatible with the shitty shonen tropes one tries to throw in.
