Watch this: Deku trains super hard and push himself to peak physical prowess to try to keep up from the start. When he fights other heroes in school, have him use creative tactics, his analyzing, and maybe some gadgets to win some of his matches. Have him hold his own despite the odds. Then when they have to fight stronger monsters/criminals, he realizes that he's still pretty limited without prior knowledge. He starts working on his mcguyvering/speed analyzing skills to compensate, but then at one point he realizes it's still not enough. BUT, he knows all the heroes and their abilities super well, so he comes up with good tactics that the others can carry out to win. Boom, he's a support/tactician hero. Throw in some drama, like All Might dying to protect him when he fucks up majorly. Have an arc where he is super depressed, but then mans up and resolves to be like All Might, not as the powerful superhuman, but as the man that inspires everyone to push themselves further. They beat the final super antagonist, then timeskip to when he's an adult, and he's running the hero guild thing or whatever, coordinating hero dispatch and stuff.

That still has flaws of course and doesn't have to follow that exactly, but the point is it's much, much more interesting and adds a twist to the shonen aspect. And I pulled that out of my ass in 5 minutes, imagine if we had an actual writer work on this shit. Fuck, it just pisses me off how cool this series could have been.

The plot of BnHA is kind of contrived. I mean, I understand that it's shounenshit so you shouldn't expect much, but it's so easy to go into a fight or an arc and figure "he'll job here because it'll help his character 'grow' ", or "he'll pull off a win barely", because it's the kind of predictable shit fed to kids. The anime is another thing entirely- it's lazy and insulting to some degree.

What bothers me about the anime chiefly is that there are so many flashbacks and reused scenes, it's completely noticeable they needed to save budget by doing so. A good few minutes every single episode is just reused animation, in fact. Frankly, it's the same jump formula used to prolong a series for as long as is needed to ride the wave of popularity.

I would still love to inhabit a superhuman world even I'm not special myself because odds are they have super geniuses that have invented advanced technology that can emulate quirks/super powers. So there's still a chance that anyone can play hero or villain, if they had the resources or connections with the right people to get their hands on proper technology that can users superpowers.
