Basically, Washizu and his gang go down to a mine to beat the owner of the mine to get the rights to it. Basically the game is mahjong with giant pieces. Instead of the wall, pieces are dropped instead. One person from each team run to the center and pick up a piece, where they can fight each other and there's a penalty if you get Ron'd or something, the penalty being the iron ball and chains. He basically beats the shit out of everyone being the god like man he is, but he gets penalized a couple times and ends up having to fight the strongest guy on the other team. Needless to say Washizu goes full helicopter and beats the shit out of the other guy.

But if it's just for fun I like to think Saki puts up a good fight, but Akagi beats her and teaches her a valuable lesson and helps to cover a weak spot. Akagi is a good guy especially when he's old, so he likes how much promise Saki shows and her heart.

Scrub here too, but speaking from experience, at times you'll have a good hand, but someone else will be at tenpai (riichi or damaten), you're dealt a tile that you feel may be the one they need. Don't deal it, I lost points several times this way. It's apparently common for 4-dan players and above to use closed waits, so you can't rely on suji defense.
Also, when someone's in riichi before you, attack is *rarely* the best defense, just having you and everyone else hold that player's winning tile will prevent you from having to recover lost points later.

That's not exactly true. Of course Akagi goes deep into the psychological aspect. But in Saki people form strategies around their own powers and denying other their power which I find really interesting in it's own way.
The way Hisa plays, where she always goes for bad weights just because she feels more lucky stacking the odds against herself. You could compare that to the kind of insanity Akagi looks for when he gambles with his life. There's a lot of interesting stuff like that in Saki. Yuki always feels her flow in the east round and plays as quickly as possible to keep the east going, while other players gradually figure out what's she's trying to do.
