King, have only watched the anime though.
>Hype him up as the main antagonist, going as far as killing of the main character
>Get's bitch slapped by Escanor shortly after
I hope he doesn't job to Melodas next week
poor qt, why hasn't Merlin given her an overly convenient magic tool yet
probably jealous from her flatness
Do you guys know how confused i was when i realized these are two different shows with the same name?
And I can tell that you have shit taste.
It's amazing how there is not a single post about the captain in the thread. Too bad I was hoping to have a discussion about how many bitch slaps per minute he'll get from the MAN ==> >>160877091
This is almost noon Escanor. He's clearly not as big in the latest chapter so I doubt that he's a match for Mel
Fair point but I'll raise you this. Also that is "almost noon" Escanor as you said. We have yet to see "high noon" Escanor.
I watched 14 episodes and couldn't get into it. Elizabeth a shit and won't stop crying.
Melodias isn't even fun Pervy because it's borderline rape
Ban is okay, but his loli girlfriend is your typical good girl with bad guy thing.
Diane is pretty cool though.
Does it get any less cliche?
I tried watching/reading this a couple years back. I dropped it some time after Mel first went nuts, right after a short fighting tournament or something. It wasn't bad, but I just didn't find it engaging enough to continue investing time in it. Should I give it another shot? Does it actually get better?
He suddenly got instantly extra ripped and strong just when he needed it against Estarossa, even tough there was still one hour left before noon.
It's pretty clear he can just make himself stronger than his opponent if needed. Only problem is that the stronger he get the less he can control the damage he make around him.
To further cement that it's over an hour, the farmer used the word 半刻, read as はんとき.
Here ar a few links that say that the word equates to around one:
(Yep, they're in Japanese, sorry.)
The Japanese people divided a day into twelve animals from the Chinese astrology, that's why there are expressions such as 申の刻 (time of the monkey, from 3 PM through 5 PM).
The kanji 半 denotes the half of something, in this case the two-hour period (刻). Half of 2 hours = 1 hour.
I really like Meliodas/Elizabeth because i absolutely adore this type of love stories which are fairly rare and two similar examples i can remember are both from video games and not manga. Mel has additional bonus of weird as shit family with one brother being borderline yandere for him and another being a grumpy tryhard who will probably turn into a softie later in story given that he already was unable to fulfil his duty once when it concerned his girlfriend.
Even a fucking Merlin actually became emotional for a moment and said that Escanor is no match for Meliodas in that form so i don't doubt her words given that he knew him for 3000 years.
Not like you bulk up, but that you scale up, so you can still have mantels, they'd just be 40 feet tall...
but as I say this I realize that this has already been done by Gurren Lagan
That honestly makes absolutely no sense. That's not how it works at all. You don't just go "hey, I'll try to guys how he could try to look 10 years older" for a wanted portrait, you just put his last up to date face, kinda like how Nico Robin in OP still had her child portrait for years.
Escanor looked nothing like his portrait. If they simply just put his old portrait he would have been way more recognizable. The fuck is up with giving him a custom hairstyle and beard?
>Elizabeth a shit
>Mel is borderline rape
They're the heirs to the Goddess and Demon clans respectively, who fell in love over 3000 years ago and have been cursed with eternal suffering. Mel as you've seen him is a fraction of his real power, and he has a real sadistic, serious side to him. Real Elizabeth is best girl (or 106 best girls in 1)
He'll be back eventually. Mera survived being scorched, her remains cracking in two, having her neck snapped and like 6 hearts destroyed and she's still fine. And even if she did die it wouldn't necessarily stop her, considering that Helbram has already died like three times and always keeps coming back. Galan was one of Nakaba's favorite designs too so I'm pretty sure he'll bring him back. I'm kind of expecting Zeldris to be able to nullify commandments with the Demon King's power so he might have restored Estarossa to fighting form and de-petrified Galan already.
I can't take this seriously when she's literally facing Escanor and all the sins together.
I still hope she has the "opening the hell door and let a Indra come out" trump card or it would be disappointing.
I agree. If it was just her vs the other Sins I could see her thinking that trapping Mel and using his anger to fight the other 5 could work, but since Escanor is also there she must have some kind of plan for him as well. She witnessed him make Galan shit his pants and got burned herself, then most likely heard from Zeldris about Escanor humiliating Estarossa later on. He came out of nowhere so I can understand them being taken by surprise in the beginning but there's no way the Commandments can underestimate him anymore.
>killed a body that she was possessing
>undoubtedly has regenerative powers anyways
>in a "death is cheap" universe
She's """dead""" for sure.
I understand that Diane and King needed to power up somehow, but I feel like the holy war flashback should have happened in the goddess arc. The Commandment arc is already really long and there's been a lot of developments. Mel and Elizabeth's situations have finally been revealed in full, Diane got her memories back and got together with King, Ban got his waifu back, Gowther got over his identity issues. Mel and Eli still need to solve their issues and we're likely going to see development for Merlin and Escanor but that's about it, so the goddess arc is looking shorter than the Commandment arc, at least for now. There's also been a lot of power ups, to the point that I find it hard to believe the Sins are going to get much stronger than this, partly because most of the cast is really far behind and partly because the archangels aren't all that strong and there's only 4 of them.
The second arc being so long also means that the finale will most likely not be included in season 2, unless they pull a 3 cour which tend to be pretty rare these days.
The Archangels are pretty strong anon, of the 7 sins, only Meliodas could consistently fight one. During the day Escanor could fight one sure - but everyone else would get clowned on by an Archangel in a 1 on 1, or even a 2 on 1.
>but I feel like the holy war flashback should have happened in the goddess arc.
It sounds more like to me we're not getting any. It won't be something as classic as
> arc 2 : demon
> arc 3 : goddesses
To me. As shown with two of the goddesses, they're not the most horrible people, they're just grey.
If anything, maybe we already entered the "third" arc Nakaba mentioned.
>semi active mid-week non-release non-announcement NNT thread
This is pretty rare.
tfw these bangs are probably gone forever
So Elizabeth has all her memories from all of her past lives right? Do we know for certain if her memories of Merlin are from her original life as a goddess, or from a later one? I want to know more about Merlin, god damnit
Original goddess. The demons knew about the place where Merlin lived, and she was a 12 years old survivor of it. She could only have had that age before the demons got sealed.
Estarossa doesn't compare to Mel at all. They have the same PL when Meliodas doesn't even have his mark on. Zeldris is the one who matters and he is a threat because of Demon King powers, who Meliodas was supposed to replace.
Just to add to the "not dead", evidence-
>that fucking design
>fair amount of panel time in the flashback arc; portrayed as being fairly cute
>got two color pages
If she'd gotten a "She was there. See, there she is, in the background in this one panel", I'd be a little more inclined to begrudgingly accept that she's a mook. As things stand, though, I'd put her chances of not being dead at 80%.
Makes me wonder if she wasn't just "unexpectedly "popular and Nakaba decided to use her more, or it's just him that liked her design more than he tought at first. Her first appearance definitely felt like the "throwaway character that will never appear again besides in one panel" type.
I fucking love my nigga Zeldris
