Well, it's true. Whenever Rem's intelligence is described, it's always clear that she's more than capable. Tappei describes her as an honor student, and portrays her as fairly observant. Though her emotions and other issues sometimes get in the way.

When she gives it a go, she's surprisingly crafty as well. She probably doesn't give her intelligence enough credit because her main point of reference is super-genius Ram.
