Actual spoilers: It's been a while since I saw it, but Haruto (the MC) went full on space-vampire crazy when he ran out of "runes". Saki showed up at the wrong time, and he rapes her to get some sweet, sweet runes. But Saki's cool with it, because she likes Haruto and they later realize it's what he needed to survive, I guess.

I don't know if Magikano can really be called a trainwreck, it's more like a spontaneous train explosion at the end.
