Favourite manga authors?
> Tsutomu Nihei
> Jiro Matsumoto
> Naoki Yamamoto
My favorites would be Fukumoto, Matsumoto Taiyou and Furuya. Jiro is also excellent, very good works, really love his short stories.
What are you reading right now? I'm reading
Murasakiiro no Qualia. Pretty nice actually, but I think the real good parts going to be towards the end.

Good taste! I'll have to read more from these guys (only read Kaiji and Garden).
I'm not really reading any manga at the moment (actually I'm reading fantasy books right now, 'Theft of Swords' by Michael J, Sullivan). Hoped to get some exposure to new stuff through this thread.
I think I'll check out Murasakiiro no Qualia :)

Actually, can you reccomend me something from these guys?

No doubt. Check out Fukumoto major works (Kurosawa, Akagi, Zero) they are fantastic. Gai is good too.
From Furuya you should check out Innocents Shounen Juujigun , Marie and of course Litchi which is a must read imo

With the way this thread is going, you probably won't get nothing. I'm just hoping to bump it up and make more people to see this thread-there is a manga thread once like every few months, and when it's going well they are really fun

Aside from what I said earlier, from Matsumoto you should check out GoGo monster, Aoi Haru, Ping Pong, No.5 and Sunny (best work of him for me)
Also, he didn't write that one but he did use his amazing art-Takemitsu Zamurai. Fantastic historical fiction story, gorgeous art. Really fitting.

Nice, I've heard some of these mentioned before but didn't get to check them out yet.
Will do!

>Rumiko Takahashi
She is such a hack but damn I love her. She needs to write more SOL stuff in the style of Urusei Yatsura though because Inuyasha was bad.
>Kazuo Koike
Manly as fuck. Really good
sucks to like manga medium and to not know nihongo
I feel like I'll run out of things to read in just 2-3 years
Sorry for the scrub post.

I know that feel. But then again, I still regularly stumble over a real gem that I haven't read yet.
Some good stuff in this thread too
