Ow shit.
Seeing the top of loli's body naked was good just because we knew Reg and her could actually share everything, without being ashamed of their bodies, etc. But it's going to work just fine if they cover her tits her hair.

They live in a dirty old orphanage that relies mainly on child labor for income, younger boys and girls probably took baths together all the time to save time and money, it wouldn't be any stretch to assume they've all seen eachother naked at some point and would explain why Nat and Shiggy didn't even bat an eye when Riko explained that she'd thoroughly examined and inspected Reg's cock, balls and asshole. In fact the only thing Shiggy complained about was that she broke his ruler.
Reg's was the first and only one she'd ever seen hard, though. And it was love at first sight.

So if I'm understanding it right the abyss has like a film like mist and when you go up it it damages you but when you do down you're fine? Couldn't the just go inside a wall and dig up and down and build an elevator? I know that isn't feasible, but could you theoretically do it and bypass the curse?
I love how unapologetic Tsukushi is about his fetishes., we all should aspire to be like him.
>>160512546
It's how others perceive her twisted side, the Abyss really took a toll on her sanity and the only reason she either didn't killed herself or went full "dark soul hollow insane" are her friends(Maruruk, Jinrou and rest of her team) and the promise she made to the closest person to a daughter for her, Lyza.
She also appear as an hunchback because she is taller than 2 meters and Riko and Reg are quite small compared to her
Hires lewds, not for christian eyes.
>>160512243
he probablymoans loudly when lyza strips him naked and ties his arms behind his back with her panties. Even moreso when she pushes him onto his back and bends his ankles up past his ears; plunging her face deep into his boyhole. Paying no attention to his weak protests that "the others will hear" and instead pushing her tongue even further into him, causing the moans to turn to gasps. Each of her hands pressed deeply into his now trembling thighs, making sure to spread her attention to each part of his body evenly. "W-wait, I-I can't-" his words cut short as she withdraws entirely from him. "5 minutes? Is that all you've got in you? I haven't even started yet you wimp" His glance now sidelong, cheeks ablaze. "I-it's only my f-first...." Nibbling his lower lip now as his begging eyes flit back to hers."
he was a good friend
https://a.doko.moe/wwiwju.png
>>160510138
Yeah, you can very clearly see her eye isn't the only thing moistening up there. It's also obviously the first time a boy has ever been interested in her, so this is probably some new and scary territory for her and she's experiencing her fair share of all the awkwardness of her first crush. She's mature enough to see though that there's a lot between him and Riko so she's been holding herself back big time.
Of course we all know what the only true route that should be taken here is. Pololigamy ending.
>>160512976
>they sang about their hands in the ED
>both those arms are bust now
>>160512891
>but could you theoretically do it and bypass the curse?
it's more of a force field, while of course our physics dont apply literally to the abyss.
>>160512891
Assuming you can easily dig through the walls of the Abyss, that you have the tech to make and maintain several kilometer long elevators, that the forcefield doesn't flood into your shaft, that water from the ocean doesn't pour in, etc. then yeah, it's "feasible".
Considering that Orth's been around for ~1900 years though, and I think it's safe to say that any ideas like that have been tried.
https://a.doko.moe/jyrvep.png
>>160512449

>>160512891
It's a forcefield, not a mist.

Makes me wonder, just how advanced the rest of the world is.
Also wish MiA would focus just abit more time on exploring each layer, we barely even seen Layer 1 (beyond the very top) and Layer 3 was more or less skipped right over into Layer 4 as if nothing while the Layer 5, which we were so hyped for, was glossed over completely in favour of Daddy's daycare..
>>160512165
Start of manga is more like "a few years from 2000", since the skeletons found in the upper layers are 2000 years old.
But I'd say there's a real chance that the 2000 year thing, whatever it is, is happening before the end of the manga.

There's not much on layer 3 aside from monsters, in fact it's hard to even think of a way for adults to go up and down the fall since the way they did it in the manga took advantage of their small bodies.
As for layer 5, there's nothing much there either it seems. We saw the scorpions and the bone structures they used as bridges; the rest of the layer seems to be almost completely encompassed by the base/ritual building.

>>160513853
Fair enough, either way if the author focused too much on the layers then it'd likely break the whole story sequence anyway. Just myself I'd prefer a more Etrian Odyssey exploration, we already got the exotic dishes and various dungeon exploring dangers.
>>160513911
With this pacing, it will probably be 7 or 8.
5 will be bird and stuff and end at Ozen, 6 will be all the Ozen stuff and survival training, and 7 will introduce Nanachi. And even that feels a bit rushed.
So it will probably be 2 episodes for teh seeker camp, and Nanachi will be introduced in episode 8, and fully revealed in episode 9.

You know you fags can talk as much shit as you want, project your femdom fantasies on him and his wife and all that, for obvious reasons he won't be able to respond to any of it. But it's pretty damn clear that she really, truly loved that guy, and it fucked her up pretty bad when he was taken from her. They could've had such a cute family together.
>>160513743
Oh I know they have incredibly rudimentary and basic forms of "elevators". That's part of the point I was making, in that I doubt Orth has the ability to make elevators that are several kms long, let alone excavate a shaft for them.
>Makes me wonder, just how advanced the rest of the world is.
The rest of the world is apparently less well-off than Orth, as they'll even pay for artifacts that delvers consider worthless. Reasoning behind this might be that technological development has mostly stagnated due to finding relics, and not being able to reverse engineer them at all. After all, what's the point of inventing a gun if you can apparently find all sorts of lasers and shit in the Abyss.
>>160514033
The thing is the story setup can afford food stuff because it's a basic need, but to start exploring every little corner like a tourism manga would run counter to the whole point of their descent in the first place. And it's not that easy to change the story in such a way that both the hard-descent and the exploring happen, unless you change the setting into a more linear dungeon that needs to be 'completed' before advancing (less interesting) or you change the concept into a more shounen thing where the point is progressiong through the guild (god no)
>>160513743
The 5th layer is enormous, Riko said it was several Orth's in size. There's very little land areas as well, judging from the pics we have of it, as most of it is composed of weird, bigass floating water platforms that overlap to form various oceans and stuff.
Pic related is the top of layer 5th, they pass through that hole in the middle to get down to the Idofront.
>>160514118
>After all, what's the point of inventing a gun if you can apparently find all sorts of lasers and shit in the Abyss.
Yeah, just looking through all of the end chapter info bits about Abyss tech, you end up realizing how heavily reliant humanity in this world is on Abyss relics.

>>160514646
I doubt it's the same as value town just by the scale of it. The Idofront is fucking enormous.
If you look at the top left here, you can sort of see how the weird ocean discs might be held up by bigass pillars. The Idofront might be placed in a broken one of those, or maybe they're all supposed to be like that, I dunno. But then that raises the question of how someone put a big spinning floating town there, what they put it there for, if all the other pillars have big spinning floating towns inside of them, etc.
Whole thing's a big fucking mystery and the 5th layer makes zero sense.

1. They don't like him as "best boi", they like him as a villain. He's well written
2. The story is structured to escalate as they progress. Also the further from the surface they are the more alien the surroundings. Of course, layer 6 is gonna be the most interesting, this is where all the plot points are going to culminate, all questions answered, in preparation for the finale in layer 7. The upcoming chapter is most likely the most important yet, SO WHY CAN'T IT FUCKING RELEASE ALREADY

Tone wise, yes. But I feel like it's different than Narutaru in that even though both have cute artwork that is offset by gruesome things happening, Mohiro writes a story that punishes childlike ideology. Made in Abyss, on the other hand, works more for me because because Tukushi writes about childlike ideaology prevailing in a harsh environment. Despite everything that happens to Riko and co they stilll retain a sense of wonder and hope. Narutaru on he other hand, was just plain depressing.

He's the first person we've seen overcome the abyss through his own logic. He would have gotten away with it had Riko not annihilated him. I get the feeling there'll be a lot of these arguments in the future if the anime reaches his arc, and they'll be exactly the same as the anime watchers confused as to why everyone's okay with Riko going down to certain death. The abyss is an excruciatingly harsh setting. In their society, people are far more used to death and need to do harsh things to get by. Don't apply your values to their world, but look at it from inside.
He abducts orphans who will surely die in the slums to refine a system that overcomes the curse. In a short time he managed to reduce it from the faulty elevator system to much more successful cartridges. What if he took it further, to something like Meinya instead of Prushka, or even discovered how to make artificial cartridges? It's not like he's torturing kids for kicks. They're disposable in the same way the orphanage used kids to gather relics, and they're much quicker to form deep bonds needed to receive a blessing. People like him because he's genuinely just in it for human progress and fits well in the setting. When he's beaten there's no animosity, because his goal is still being fulfilled in seeing Nanachi press onwards.
>>160517048
Lyza and Ozen returned from the 4th layer with the box, not the 5th, but yeah it's still really impressive.
The 3rd layer really ramps up the difficulty for normal delvers compared to the 1st and 2nd, and Riko and Reg only got through by being small and only going down.
Trying to scale up a 5km cliff face filled with giant flying maneaters while suffering hallucinations and vertigo sounds pretty ridiculous, no wonder Lyza's whole team got wiped out.
>inb4 lyza had two children and reg turned into a robot because of the blessing, so she left him in the abyss only to rencounter him again during her last dive
>>160517367

At a terrible cost, of course, but you can't say he didn't personally beat the abyss.
>>160517367
I agree but i have to add something. Although he did do terrible shit to children it felt like he really loved them after all. Even when they were children or after they turned into his experiments he seemed to care about them. It's also shown when he's defeated. He lost the thing he was aiming and building up to but he held no resentment and praised her, like a parent praising being proud of his child.
I guess we can excuse it as him being manipulative or self centered and proud about his creations and experiments but we also know that this guy is completely off his rocker so that love while twisted it felt completely genuine and in some instance touching.
Apparently there was a 4 month break between chapters once, does anyone know if that's true?
>>160516883
Come on anon there's been people that get into essay-tier arguments about him not even being bad, this has been going on since the chapters were translated but exploded into utter retardation lately because the anime started and more people started reading the series and the pseudo-generals became real generals and the IP count went from ~80 (possibly way less real unique posters since those threads tended to last more than 24h) to ~100 (real)

I found a silly little jump height calculator that uses your squat weight and body weight to estimate your vertical jump.
http://www.higher-faster-sports.com/verticaljumpcalculator.html
Just plugging in some general values:
>Ozen's close to 7ft tall, probably would weigh like 220lbs if she was a normal lady.
>Average man can probably squat maybe 250lbs.
>Ozen would be able to squat 120,000 times that, so 30m lbs.
>Calculator says Ozen would have a standing vertical jump height of ~58km
I'm sure this thing is inaccurate as fuck but the idea that Ozen could just casually hop out of the 2nd layer whenever she feels like it is amusing

Another reason why people like him is because of his sincereity and positivity. He never outright lied to anyone, and never explicitly expressed any kind of negative emotions, and thats what makes him so frightening. He genuinly and passionately cared for his adopted children.
Aside from all that, he is just really quite a memetic fellow. He has a memorable style and mannerisms, and if you take all of the aforementioned and blend it together you're obviously gonna get a character that, no matter how evil and inhuman, still going to get a huge following. Villain != Bad.
Villains can have complex/questionable motives that have some good intent to them. Not every villain is just 'I'm going to kill people because I'm crazy/feel like it!' A villain could simply be someone who does something morally questionable for the greater good.
The key difference between who the villain and the hero is? Sometimes all it boils down to is perspective. Sometimes a hero can be seen as morally unjust compared to the 'villain' in a story.
While I understand what you're getting at, you're arguing at a misinterpretation of semantics. Which, is nothing bad. But I'm clarifying what my interpretation of 'villain' is.
what if what's at the end of the hole is a switch that pushes the curse layers upwards out of the hole over the world?
>>160518252
The supposed solution to the curse did not just come after a one-time set of gruesome experiments after which we get a product that can be used, but instead a system that inherently relies on continual mass murder. Your reddit is showing.
>>160517541
How about the fact that he's credited with more practical and impactful achievements and strides in delving methodology and technology than any other white whistle you retarded speedreader?
Lyza set a bunch of superficial records that amount to little more than impressive but ultimately pointless personal achievements, and Ozen was famous for being strong. Literally just for being really fucking strong.
Bondrewd was a technological and scientific giant that changed the entire world and did more for abyss delving as a whole than anyone else even came close to, downplaying his canonically documented achievements just because you're butthurt about his admittedly unforgivable methods just makes you look stupid. And furthermore, if he'd had time enough to refine and perfect his curse-nullifying methods he would've yet again changed the world with his research and potentially could've rendered the once thought unconquerable curse of the abyss into something not only surmountable, but even useful to mankind. Because that's how science and technology works, it progresses and improves upon itself inexorably so long as minds like his continues to exist.
Man once saw the ocean as something impossible to cross, but then he made boats. For eons the sky was something vast and impossible to traverse, then the Wright brothers invented the first biplane. For thousands of years the abyss was an enigma colossal and impossible to comprehend, then Bondrewd showed up.

So here is the thing with the falling plates. In volume 6, the last few pages are arranged so that they occur separate from the rest of the chapter. It goes 42 > Special 2 > Special 3 > "What is happening in the abyss?"
I dont think we are headed for full apocalypse yet because of the timing of the pages, but in Special 2 Jiruo specifically mentions that there has been a fucking ton of funerals lately. So most likely its because of that slowly accelerating (AKA everyone dying on their birthday) but not because of an apocalyptic event just yet.

Or literally every other example of technological progression in history? The man is ahead of his time in every way, but still in such an early time. What we're seeing is not the ultimate fruits of his work, it's yet another stepping stone towards perfecting an aspect of reality made necessary by the abyss. And even if it wasn't, one can easily make a case of the strong using the weak to lift up the whole of humanity if you want to be a nihilistic dick about it, the fact remains this was an absolutely groundbreaking milestone in delving that the MC's set us back who knows how long just to survive. Denying his accomplishments just proves you don't understand how science works.

>Lyza known to be a voracious eater and have a big appetite according to Jiruo

Torka confirmed cooking his way to Lyza's heart. Probably taught Lyza some basics about cooking too.

There is about normalizing the sexualization of children, though. Read my original comment.

I've read it, and there's no link between drawn porn of lolis and shotas and actual child abuse in real life, so because there's no harm, there's nothing morally wrong with it.
In fact, it usually lowers the rates of child abuse.
Does the dark tone contribute to the series or is it kind of just there? Not sure if I want to pick up the manga.

I think this is true if you actually are watching something realistically happen over and over again.
However, in fiction, things like violence and sex aren't depicted realistically.
Playing Call of Duty doesn't desensitize you to the actual, real, horrors of war.
Just reading a hentai manga where some girl gets blackmailed with pictures of her naked and ends up becoming addicted to sex does not desensitize you to real rape.

That doesn't merit any freakout whatsoever anon, you're just a gigantic pussy. You just tell him "no" and that's that. Same for the allegations in a previous thread that they/she should be more shaken by how the ancap tentacles obliterated toothy, when it's just a ball of fluff they weren't even familiar with 5 seconds before it punched their bunny and won't be seeing again regardless. Their reaction and aftermath are perfectly in tune with their characters.
Hmm... There's been some discussion about how exactly one becomes a narehate, but doesn't this panel suggest that simply dying is enough?
I don't think you need to reach the 6th layer in person to become a narehate, I think simply dying means you become one. And then you can't leave the 6th layer because the elevator can't be activated without a WW, even if you can see the forcefield.
That would also explain why several characters comment on how they seem to not really be alive, or shouldn't be alive; and how Nanachi is different because she "properly has life".
Reminds me of a certain Fatalpulse book.

Except that all "science" that tried to excuse its moral downfalls with "muh progress" ended up being shut down and ostracized.
And Boner isn't even doing real science, only the kind of fake science you see in fiction where the epistemology is all fucked up and there's no boundary between technology/application and science/understanding. He fullfils your basic mad scientist stereotype, except replace the cackling theatrics for matter-of-fact enthusiasm.

>Nothing to do with "furthering our understanding of the Abyss"
Discovering that the Abyss doesn't just curse people and has a chance of bestowing a blessing is a big ass step towards "understanding the Abyss", anon.
>>160526379
He is credited and recognized for >>160526154, he couldn't possibly be credited and recognized for his "curse science" because literally nobody other than his clique and the MCs know about it. Maybe you forgot, but the discussion is about the kiddy slicing. And "world renown" from people who are far removed from the reality of his situation is entirely irrelevant. You could make a basic plot starting from the existence of cartridges and slowly revealing the mystery that "they're actually people!" as a major twist that flips preconceived notions around. In fact there's hundreds of stories from all time periods that function on similar ploys, always to challenge the reader on a moral basis.
Besides, he doesn't give a shit about science. He just wants to survive to the next cycle and his entire project is teleologically oriented towards finding himself a body that can resist all perils. It is easily confirmed when you read lines like pic related, or the end-of-fight speech about "seeing the next dawn of the Abyss".
Bondrewd clearly was an extremely hardworking and intelligent man making great leaps in the science of the abyss.
Even while he was using "less conventional" means for testing, probably. He was already a criminal before he became a white whistle.
However, at the time in the story, he has clearly deteriorated. The comic says itself that he's lost all sense of himself beyond the want for scientific progress.
And with the time dilation, how long do you think he's been down there?
>literally nobody other than his clique and the MCs know about it
Well what the fuck do you think he was planning on doing with all that shit when everything else he did was something that ultimately proved beneficial to mankind to a far greater degree than any of the other white whistles? Habo says as much when he was explaining it and if I remember correctly specifically mentioned he did more shit than just any jackoff with a flamethrower can pull of, scientific and engineering shit. All of his achievements were widely known because they produced results, had Reg and Riko not killed him about fifteen times there's nothing suggesting his work wouldn't have lead to something monumental, mind you I'm not justifying the slaughter of children or condoning it from an ethical standpoint but you can't say progress wasn't being made. You absolutely can't.
>>160526556
>far removed from the reality of his situation is entirely irrelevant
He was well known for human experimentation even before he set foot in the Abyss, doesn't stop the Whistles from respecting the progress he brings to the Abyss.
>Besides, he doesn't give a shit about science
His entire goal was "bringing the Dawn", part of the "stagnation" he came to overcome was the fact that no civilization survived the 2000 year mark. Staying alive and continuing progress beyond that is his pursuit of science.
Besides, his conversation with Nanachi proves he doesn't give a shit if he dies - he's okay with it as long as Nanachi lives on, as the plan to "bring the Dawn" lives on through her.
What does Reg's penis taste like?
