Can somebody explain to me why Satoru is ok with murdering thouthands and torturing endlessly? I mean I've got that he has is emotions suppressed but why it is suddenly ok with a person to go on mayhem just because he does not feel guilty about it? The change towards that is getting more and more visible. He can be ruthless rational charismatic. But if you tick his Satoru side he gets emotional a bit.
A good example was the Dwarf that tried to revive Runesmithing, at first he had no real reason to go and help the dwarf after hearing the situation about the Runesmiths nearly lost compelte interest. But then he got reminded of his own situation wanting to preserve something important to him and he started to make plans for the runesmiths.

I think same is true for Ainz.
NW Ainz is Momonga Overlord character with Satoru's personality copied on top.
Since character alignment -500 Evil was quite clear on the matters of compassion - character settings held greater effect on resulting entity than Satoru's traits.
That is - if Satoru even cared much about fellow human beings to begin with:

I suspect "human levels" are job levels and "beastmen levels" are racial levels, similar to Yggdrasil.

I just watched the anime for the first time. While there are some good ideas and interesting designs, I still can't be satisfied by that series.

The premise is interesting and full of potential, but the execution is a bit jarring. Ainz is stronger than everyone, he has a basically limitless number of god-tier magic and legendary items, no one is even a threat for him, except Shalltear late in the series, and he's easily outwitting her.

So, where's the tension ? I came to see an Isekai show, where a real-world human would be cast in a fictional world and experience all the good and the bad it has to offer, but unlike other Isekai shows, this time the human has a whole dungeon worth of loyal NPCs with him. It got very promising around episodes 3-4 when Ainz interacted with Carne village for the first time. I hoped the series would delve into politics and strategy, but as soon as Ainz rofsltomped the bad guys, the series took a turn for the worse. First, there was that retarded DnD arc, and then the underwhelming Shalltear arc. It feels like the series isn't going anywhere, and has no consistent plot.

I haven't read the LNs. Will the second season be good ?

It has made reading about future encounters slightly more dull for me. Reading about Ainz's multiple plans and contingencies for dealing with certain enemies or entities, only to see them get btfo with some basic level shit from ygg is draining after a while. I want to see him actually have to use plan b's and c's more often.
