Phantom World does look great though, nice character designs, good backgrounds though not always, vibrant but never annoying color palette and overall decent animations. Really great storyboarding, especially later one.
It's an underrated episodic show but /a/ is just too pleb and one dimensional at this point. Pandering and boring are the only two words this board knows at this point.

This, phantom world is underrated. People were having the wrong expectations and were caught off guard. A lot of people didn't like the LN and the whole premise of the show so they didn't bother to watch it.
Also KyoAni had a solid record of good shows so phantom world was the perfect opportunity to bash the studio.
