How can anyone stand this guy? I started out watching Bakemonogatari years ago and liked it, but as I grew older I realized how much of a fucking power fantasy this guy is, even more so than many other mcs in other series. Let's run the list down:
>Becomes a vampire, so he's immortal and generally physically attractive because he can lure people in with his "charm" (AKA bullshit writing)
>Fucks his sisters or at least one of them
>Is generally a scumbag
>His girlfriend is cool with all of this
>Every female he meets in general, is instantly on his fuck list
>Everyone brushes it off and no one touches up on the subject
>Gets to have a vampire loli for when all of his other fucktoys die
>Generally the hero of all story arcs for no reason
>Zero relatable or otherwise redeemable qualities
This fucker is the definition of what to get wrong with a protagonist. Even his lowest moments are still brief, and he just gets back up and reminds you he's fucking the entire harem. Even if it's not all of them, he generally is a scumbag anyway, effectively making it all feel like a big budget, soft-core hentai series.
The shows and the stories in general could all just be about the girls interacting with each other, figuring out mysteries, and it would be much better. Remove this fucking power fantasy hentai character guy and the story would actually call for your attention for once and not just boil down to "lol fanservice" and "I bet he's fucking her too lol".

Came to post this. Also despite his charms, he's canonically considered a siscon, lolicon, and complete weirdo by everyone. The reason why the backgrounds are empty of other characters is because the only people who tolerate his existence are a collection of oddities and undead that don't really have anyone else to talk to.
