The show is essentially about self improvement. So, when working towards a goal, you have to learn to confront your own weaknesses and amend them. If you try to hide/escape from them, you aren't actually improving, but pretending to have improved.
For example, Mob's goal in the show is to become physically fit in order to impress Tsubomi. He could just pretend to be fit using his powers, but he actually confronts his physical weakness and works to improve himself with the bodybuilding club.
All of this is plain as day. Off yourself you fucking retard.

No, it's that power corrupts. Mob only avoids it because he mostly refuses to use his power because he instinctively understands that it would put life on easy mode and make it not worth living.

Notice that every character with any power that they use becomes corrupt. The characters with no power, or a small power that they worked hard to earn, don't become corrupt.

Gaining tsubasa's affection is Mob's goal and is something he chooses to work towards whether or not its a pointless or vapid. His complex about not using his power only goes to show that you can't rely so heavily on one ability as doing so would pose a threat to his friends and city which is just another reason why he would rather seek the self gratification of working out to improve himself. Also, its not that he wants to be normal. Rather, he admires those he considers normal people because they possess the powers he lacks. Thus, he wants to imitate them and work to improve himself naturally without relying on powers

The moral of the story is that having special powers doesn't make you special or give you the right to abuse it and do whatever you want. Terui was using his powers to bully everyone, but realized that wasn't a way to make people really respect and like him. The same can be said of the Claw members at the end.
