We have them. They just get burned out at 16 and become crack addicts.

I don't think the media project cashcow of making a girl group shit out a bunch of games, anime, CDs and live concerts over 2 years would work very well here, only hardcore nerds like that stuff in japan.

Are there really many idols in Japan that fit the Idolmaster template? I don't actively look for them, but whenever I see some 3D idol shit they just look like whores and aren't even that pretty. Not as bad as Korean ones who look and move like streetwalking hookers, but not quite the kind of wholesome entertainment that their anime counterparts try to sell me.
