I don't get this line of logic either. It worked splendidly for /v/. Although /snk/ is so far down the rabbit hole I doubt anything would improve in those threads. What makes the /vg/ generals usually decent is that the idea of a general is keeping it a place where a community can foster and not die off thanks to a bunch of shitposters or a nasty atmosphere. It's self regulated. Some generals do it better than others, but if you're on a board entirely dedicated to fostering communities, chances are you and others will at least try a little bit to keep them somewhat decent.
