How did anyone get invested in this shitshow period? I dropped this a few chapters in out of boredom and early Fairy Tail is supposedly when it was "decent."

I stopped reading this shit before the time skip.

It was a nice ending though.

Fairy Tail was fun in the beginning, not good by any means but entertaining. That was back when it was mostly like Rave rather than pure shonenshit, then the arcs started getting really formulaic to the point every arc was just "everyone pairs off and fights the bad guys, everyone fights a hopeless battle against the overwhelmingly strong leader of the bad guys, Natsu powers up and beats him anyway, something dramatic and heartwarming happens in the post arc wind down, rinse and repeat".

This was up until the tournament arc just after the time skip where in the author completely stopped giving a shit and just started devoting all of his time to drawing tits and ass. So that is why people read it all the way through. It's all right turned into maybe it will get better turned into boobies and vulvas.

Time for Mashima to redraw Rave instead.
I wish someone would at least rescanlate it. It's such a pain to read.
