In the final stretch, the main characters had a hit on their hands and knew getting first place on the final chapter was an inevitability, so they just kind of kept doing what they were doing. Once it happened, they cheered a bit, there was a flash forward to the first episode of the anime airing, then as soon as it finished the main character went off the marry his girlfriend.

There wasn't really much of a climax to it. After an entire arc about knowing when to end an manga, the series just kind of ends with a fizzle.

I'm unironically looking forward to it. I don't care if it's one hundred percent faithful. If it was a carbon copy it wouldn't be worth watching. And besides, there are already japanese live actions productions and you can go see those if you really want too.
