So I've been rewatching Gurren Lagann, and while I'm still enjoying it a fair bit I can't help but feel it's aged kinda poorly. Just finished episode 8 and so far I've been a little put off by how much time gets taken up by showing scenes from previous episodes. It's also worth mentioning that I've watched more mecha anime since I first saw Gurren Lagann, which makes the series seem less unique becauses a lot of those have a similar over-the-top style.

I've rewatched it a few times and I still see why I liked it so much the first time around. It's probably mostly up to personal tolerance and preferences.
