On Netflix there are 3 items for LWA, 1st the 2017 season, 2nd a 2013 version of the first episode, and 3rd a 55 minute movie.

I was wondering why they made a first episode in 2013 without continuing, which I think is a lot better than the first episode of the season imo, and then came back in 2017 and seemed to have remade LWA into something less than what was displayed in 2017?

Is there anywhere I can find a complete series following the 1st version of the episode they made in 2013?

It's not that. What people ignore is that the OVAs also worked under that dynamic. Diana being a Chariot fan was Otsuka's Idea and Tsutsumi still had the pantyshots removed.. Basically the TV production dynamic isn't that different from the OVAs except that Yoshi being a director in the latter.

I think the issues resided from the writers.

That's the point I was trying to get across somewhat. That the differences between the OVA and TV series production aren't that different. Personally, I found most of the changes were for the better. Shimada was going full shoujo and that was somethig that would have completely separated the feel of the series from the OVAs.

That's why I'm saying that the problems that were left came from the writers and the weird pacing during the 2nd cour, what with the strange distribution and placement of certain scenes.

Despite everything, I still wonder if there "creative differences" with Shimada. A main writer not doing the final 3 episodes is very odd.

It seems that Ep.10 was some sort of "compromise" since that was apparently the "most Shimada" episode according to Yoshinari.

Perhaps the romance was originally way too ingrained in the second cour and then went "ok no, lets scrap that, but write a ball episode to get that out of your system".

I like Shimada, but I also think scrapping the romance was a good idea, though.

It's fucking over though, the IP now belongs to a group of people who are only interested in sucking otaku dry with merchandise. You see, the thing about Chariot is that they can actually focus on the details of her short-lived Idol carrer aside of what Croix did to her. The show only covered that because Croix was a source of confict during the 2nd cour, The anons that said that Chariot doesn't revolve around Croix are right.

Chariot already had inner issues concerning how she views herself to others. She wants to entretain, she wants to be a witch that makes people happy.
