I've marathoned your replies - glad you're all enjoying the thread. Still need more of a steer, though. So far we have two confirmations that it's gay, and one very, very sad implication that she doesn't get 'em out.

I tried it because
(a) I'd heard the title so often
and
(2) I'm reading Chobits by Clamp and it's really good
