Let's discuss "Pandering", /a/. How do you define

Something I like = good taste and quality

Something I don't like and takes screen time = pandering

"Writing things because you think a specific person or group/type/etc. of people will like it." It's a retarded "criticism" of a show.

Going out of the way to please and appeal to the audience. It isn't always a bad thing, but it feels condescending sometimes. I can't think of any specific examples, though.

Pandering is when you cause characters to behave or act in unrealistic ways (as in, outside of established character traits) for the sake of audience interest.

Everything is pandering, there are no auteurs on anime/manga because committee/editors.
I don't draw a line but I understand when I'm watching something that was created with a lot of things on mind for ultimate pandering. GochiUsa and Love Live Sunshine making an example of recent things that felt odd because they felt too artificial.
