I think it's an interesting character study but they need to pick up the pace.
None of the characters really have any arcs either, I feel like Fubuki and Garou are the only characters remotely having something like an arc. Suiryu has one but its so quick and he's probably never really going to show up again.
Mob Psycho is way fucking better though, and it comes out way more consistently and it doesn't feel as padded out especially since its most likely going to end with this current arc.

Well, you could try /ic/'s sticky, the loomis books are a good way to get started and they go from very basic to advanced.
Sometimes I see manga-based learning books from japan but I've never seen them translated.

The most important thing is to keep at it and keep improving as you can though. It's easy to get disheartened if your art looks bad to you, but that only means you know your art is bad, so you know you can improve it.

The first episode is tremendous, the series is pretty great, and the manga is mostly average but some alright moments.
What I find interesting is how both OPM and Boku no Hero Academia have basically the same world, with the same plot, but a different protag which makes all of the difference.

It's not really satire. ONE himself explained why Saitama is like this in a pretty serious manner and not to mock other action series, not at all. It's just that ONE's writing is great and original and sets him apart from what you'd normally expect to see. Mob Psycho and Makai no Ossan too have also a lot of ridiculousness and unexpected plot twists but still can have some seriousness (well, much less in Makai no Ossan), that's just part of his writing.

It isn't satire though. It's an different twist on the basic concept played 100% straight. There have been "hero" stories since probably about the dawn of human civilization, and basically all of them always give the hero some sort of strength weakness, some counter, because that helps the audience empathize, feel risk, etc. Yeah, a lot of the time that weakness is a """"weakness"""" that gets overcome at the right time with zero real sense of risk, there's plenty of bad writing out there. But there tends to be some gesture, and it's a character development arc, where you start by seeing the hero at the beginning and weak, and follow them along as they face tougher challenges, etc, until victory.

Suiryu really. None of the others did anything. The monster cells could have been introduced anywhere during everything that was happening.

It's a good-to-great parody comedy, better when ONE actually thinks of something interesting to write about. Saitama losing faith is shaping up interestingly, and I hear that the MA arc is going to end well.
The well written bits show up more in Mob Psycho, though, so people like it more.
