It's shit after bake because no meme and the only times it's remotely good in the latter seasons is when kaiki is there. So to summarise, the males are the only good thing about the series.
You also posted the most boring girl in the show.
Who doesn't like atonal piano "music" played over minimal backgrounds while talking heads discuss matters that are apparently witty and thought-provoking to the japanese audience, but don't bridge the cultural gap all that well, much less in the form of subtitles.
To what, exactly? There's nothing much in the show, if you're above 16. Dialoges aren't entertaining, and their main purpose is to make pantsushots more relatable. What kind of point we're talking about in a show existing purely for fan-service?
>despite everone being written as an actual fucking person for a change
If your definition of being an "actual fucking person" is talking in pretentious monologues 90% of the time, I don't even want to know what you don't consider a person.
Not entertaining is a valid criticism of Monogatari even though I disagree. They don't have a point is a retarded statement that makes me wonder if you were paying attention. If it's for 16 year olds (which is part of its primary demographic but not all of it) as you say the point should be obvious to you too.
She is basically female koyomi, dangerously selfless but instead of supernatural issues she only tries to fix social issues while being socially retarded.
How is Sodachi selfless? She held a grudge for years because someone didn't realize she wanted help when she using them. She's a textbook normie woman: self-absorbed and self-centered. Just because she took care of her mother doesn't mean she's "selfless". She isn't socially retarded either, she's just a jerk.
Nice, rather than having a constructive argument to back your claim, you hit me with the word "retard."
I would disagree to a certain extent, Zaregoto's main plot only gets good by vol4, vol1 was pretty good with a couple of asspulls at the end, vol2 was a clusterfuck and vol3 was barely a murder mystery. Monogatari plot has an entirely different focus, but I think it has better and more entertaining characters save for greengreengreen the madman, zigzag, aikawa and miss fortune teller. I still think Nisio is a pretty amazing writer but honestly for the most part Monogatari clicks with me more.
>goes back to her family to try to save it
>helps a little boy in trouble in the simple hope he would help her
>becomes a class president to fix the problems with her classroom, including helping Senjougahara due to her "illness"
>tries to find the cheater in her classroom
>fixes the bullying issue in her later school as well
>fixes Araragi's relationship and continue providing support later
>Works helping little kids with family problems like she had.
That cover all her parts in the story besides when she gave up during owari and zokuowari. She is pretty much always helping someone or solve some injustice but most of the time causing undesirable damage to other people and mostly herself.
I respectfully disagree, vol2 was bullshit in its most pure form, x over y shit is still one of the most infuriating things I ever pondered over, and it turned out to be a fucking nothing.
I stayed for the spook. Even so, I was put off from watching it due to the first crab arc. Twice.
Also, it's hard to think she isn't socially retarded if you read Fiasco. People say something to her, she spends 3 pages thinking what was said, then 3 pages deciding how to react and counter measures to anything retarded she could do, still misreact after all her planning and then rationalize that at least she didn't had a fit and stripped herself naked.
>goes back to her family because her psychological issues cause her to reject the "wrong" Araragi family
>uses a little boy in the only way she can manipulate him (math) hoping he develops telepathy
>becomes a class president to exert control over others because she's a control-freak, including helping those below her to feel better about her misery
>tries to find the cheater in her classroom so that people will admire her
>gets on other's people's business out of self-righteous self-satisfaction
I don't know about "fixing ragi's relationship" nor "helping Nadeko" so can't reply to those points.
Except in Fiasco she was popular for a while and decided to throw away to help someone. And in that we had her thought process, unlike how you're make assumptions. Though it does show how Nisio does it right, only a couple of her classmates in Naoetsu thought of her differently from what you assumed according to the commentaries.
Bat > Doll > Crab > Monkey > Snail > Cat > Bee > Math > Cap > Bird > Mama > Fist > Devil > Spook > Snake
Ragi > Meme > Seishirou > Kaiki > Tadatsuru > Sode > Drama > Giro
Fair enough. I haven't read the LNs, so what do I know.
It's embarrassing that this is the one show where the /a/ consensus is completely wrong. Pic extremely related. I can only hope that people here one day begin breaking the conditioning.
To be fair, she did think she would be popular after succeeding with the class trial. She also didn't think her "plan" would backfire that hard in Fiasco. So selfless might not be very accurate, impulsively self-loathing justice obsessed might have been better, she just puts other people over herself because she puts herself rock bottom.
I would say so, I even made a fairly sophisticated AI using her in the prototype for a graduation project (not unlike many anons working in engineering and computer science). She is obviously not from Monogatari and this is the last blogging I'll do in this thread.
Those were from Sodachi Lost commentaries fansub.
If this was spread around before the afterword, I wonder how many would think he was forced to write the sequels instead of writing it as a joke instead.
Sodachi will get a handsome, young and loyal mathematician while she does her doctorate in math. She is best being Araragi's tsunbro and his only close friend with zero sexual tension for a change.
A) he's literally scolded that same scene by senjou for not taking anyone else into account when he attempts to sacrifice himself. Kaiki also scolds him for his whiteknighting in Koi.
B) Araragi actually holds back the girls in his harem, those who leave develop by moving past him.
C)This behaviour causes parallel world araragi to die as a set up to mayoi jiangshi (offscreen, purported)
D) He manifests an aberration as a result of his shortcomings
E) Literally nobody watches the show for it's focus on araragi, and many later arcs barely feature him at all
I'm pretty tired and some of this maybe off and by no means complete, but to write him off as a dime-a-dozen harem protag is to miss pretty much everything worthwile about watching him develop and watching the series progress. Yes it's a lot of setup before you get payoff, but it's worth it.
the director phoned it in. the long meandering conversations only worked because of the quirky editing and interjections and random cuts. they completely forgot to do that in every season since and replaced it with fanservice.
I wouldn't bet she would have particularly high standards and she seems to have a sense of emergency since she is only confident about her looks, the hard part would be dealing with all her emotional baggage, mood swings, her being afraid of males because of all the beatings from her father according to Fiasco and tendency to not be a good mother never having had a proper one.
Shinobumonogatari - “initial” thoughts
It’s just a feeling, but it seems to me as though when Nisio started writing the Monogatari series, Ii-chan started getting a little bit like Araragi… And now the cycle has come full circle, with the Zaregoto anime airing, as Araragi starts getting more like Ii-chan. I’m several chapters into Shinobumonogatari and there have been moments where I could forget I’m reading Monogatari and not Zaregoto (were it not for the fact that Araragi is 僕 and Ii-chan is ぼくw).
Anyway Deathtopia is HERE and here to stay I love this so far
full spoilers where
It still has quirky editing, interjections and random cuts. I would say the directing got less experimental than in bake, but the live action material and real-world imagery always stuck out a bit to me.
exactly this, i loved those moments whrn youd be caught up in the intensity of the scene and without noticing the world hadn't broken down into strange surrealist imagery and then it would i jolt you awake with weird flashes of real world imagery or video, or change the art style completely.
he was interesting in the first episode when he was a disillusioned asshole who pretends to be injured and only gives a fuck about getting shit done.
then he got harem mc syndrome and became a righteous justice fag who fights or some shit? i think what attracted most people to bake in the first place was that he was pretty weak against the oddities, like the fight against kanbaru, he just didn't give a fuck and got shit done no matter how much of a beating he took.
How do you know OP is a phoneposter?
I can deal with all of that without problem. I'm impervious to hate and derision (it's not that I'm a masochist, it just bounces off). If only I was 2D too.
Well when it started it had amusing fanservice and entertaining fight scenes with a bit of gore.
But since they seem to have completely done away with that stuff in later season (I understand the whole Konomi can't heal anymore, but still...) I still watch it cause it can be legitimately funny sometimes, I enjoy the supernatural stories, and other than crab and snake, I like all the characters.
How many people did Araragi actually save, anyway? I mean like actually save.
Crab saved herself, with Bat he made everyone unhappy, Cat saved herself with help from Crab, Snail he failed to save, Snake he made things even worse, Math got a pep talk from Cat and he was just there for the ride.
I guess maybe Bee and Birb?
Shit parents yield shit kids. Being a cop doesn't necessarily make you a good parent. Araragi even mentions how stern his parents are, throwing them into the county jail when they misbehaved.
Its more about people he saved by stopping the oddities.
He stopped Bat from indiscriminately killing humans for Food. Prevented Cat/Tiger from doing what they were doing, Snake could've royally fucked up a lot of people if she lost control.
Nah I mean whenever people bitch about Arararararagi's messiah complex. I mean yeah he wants to, but virtually every time he tries either he fucks it up worse or they save themselves or else it's subverted in some other way.
Serious question: If someone had climbed to the shrine and asked Nadeko while she was a goddess to take their virginity... as a goddess, was she supposed to have done it?
I would have tapped that medusa ass, to be honest.
>knows that he only contributed because of Oshino making it possible
>knows that kiss-shot was back at full power
>Mr. kidnaps teenagers here thinks that he can take her on
>gets BTFO instantly
He only got what was logical.
"I don't recall having made any pact with you, Heartunderblade -- I just wanted everything to turn out for the best. It was just better for me if you chose to die in order to turn Araragi-kun back into a human. For me -- in other words for humans." Oshino said. That's right. Surely that was true even for Guillotinecutter. I thought it was strange that he meekly returned Kissshot's arms, however, if I remember correctly, Oshino said he told Guillotinecutter the gist of it -- he informed him that I wanted to turn back into a human, and that Kissshot accepted it. Therefore he returned them. Oshino obtained a compromise by doing so. By doing so he persuaded him -- with that reason, Guillotinecutter gave in. If that was the case, even if he returned the arms he wouldn't contradict his doctrine."
Thanks for answering. That indeed makes it more confusing like >>160165660 mentioned.
Are you saying Giro basically committed suicide? The text you pasted doesn't indicate Giro's intentions besides returning the arms wouldn't contradict his mission, which was to make Kiss-shot a non-threat.
Avoid commie at all costs. Coalgirls did a good job, imo.
As long as it's not Commie you should be good. The more important consideration is that you grab a good 1080p Bluray version.
I was saying that to demonstrate that Oshino told him Kisshot planned to die, the part about Gui's suicide is more conjecture based on some vague statement in Kizu about "Gui thought he was deceived by Oshino and entered the cram school alone".
