I understand this is a kids show. But there is nothing redeemable

I understand this is a kids show.
But there is nothing redeemable or likable or relatabile to these characters.
How can people (not ironically) defend them?

In comparison you've got characters like Hit, which are indeed somewhat interesting and new (A super hitman, first time we've seen this shi* in DB, but 3 more Super Saiyans with no personality? kek).
