>The young Atsuko Kagari has never been this excited. She couldn't understand it, but she was feeling a profound sense of wonder and amazement. She lay in her bed unable to calm her mind, but she didn't want to. With how dearly she was clutching her new posession one might think it would pass through her chest and go right into her big heart if it weren't for the pajamas in the way. She looked at the fanciful scrawlings across its surface yet again,

Millions of words and whooshes, whisks and wonderments, wild widgecogs of sound light and color whizzed through her brain faster than she could willfully follow. All centered around this seat number. Row thirty nine seat F; Row thirty nine seat F; Row thirty nine seat F. Her parents had surprised her with this ticket more than three nights ago now, but the anticipation was too strong to fade away in mere days. The show was still four days away, and Atsuko would not be able to think of anything else for those remaining 79 hours. That is of course, until every night when she got so exhausted from thinking about it too much that she would fall asleep and dream about the amazing new worlds her precious ticket pointed her to. In fact, right about then young Atsuko did just that.

Diana looked down in her bag once more, digging around the game boy and the assorted toiletries that had fallen out of their container until she found what she was looking for. She picked up the small black box and opened it. Sitting inside was a ticket to Shiny Chariots magic show, with a seat number written neatly across the front:

She rushed outside without changing from her night clothes, accompanied by her equally worried parents, who grabbed her shoulders. They looked around for the source, Above them was a bright fiery streak through the sky, leaving a trail of smoke behind it. People all around the neighborhood were speaking on their cell phones, variably to police, family, fire departments, and news outlets. Atsuko's parents brought her inside and sent her back to bed, but the young girl couldn't help but feel an immense dread over that incident. Later that morning a news headline flashed across the Kagari television: "International flight from Europe explodes over rural Hokkaido town. No survivors." Ordinarily you wouldn't know so quickly how a tragedy like this could occur, but I'll share with you the details of this event. When Diana's mother purchased the ticket, she accidentally ran into another woman who had just purchased a ticket of her own. The tickets fell to the ground, and accidentally changed hands. The original ticket read "R4 SC", a shorter string of characters. Because the string of characters was longer in this time, a rival family to the Cavendish servant who happened to be on the same plane leaving to see the Shiny Chariot show for herself, happened to have her attention drawn by seeing just enough of "SG" to recognize it as letters. She spotted these over the shoulder of a young girl who was looking at her ticket, and being interested by a young girl who also had a ticket, she creeped forward to quietly greet the girl. When she did, she saw the girl start to put the ticket away and nod off, so she decided it would be best not to disturb her. However, once the girl was asleep, she crept forward enough to see the girls' face.

This woke up the entirety of the passengers, and brought the captain back from the cockpit. While the pilot was away, the plane was approaching a flock of birds. Ordinarily the pilot or copilot could shift the plane's trajectory just slightly to avoid a flock, but at this very moment, the copilot was asleep, and the pilot was supposed to be on shift. The flock collided with the plane and clogged the turbine intakes and interior mechanisms eventually causing a pressure burst in the two exterior engines. When it detected that the two exterior engines were no longer functional, the plane automatically increased the throttle to compensate for the fewer engines. This caused the second pressure burst to be even more violent than the last, killing everybody on board instantly. It was later exposed that Diana was on board, and Shiny Chariot cancelled her magic show at the tragic loss of such a large figure in the magic world.

And that is how a seat number doomed the world by killing Diana Cavendish and by never letting Atsuko discover her desire and dream to become a witch.

Seriously, the soundtrack invokes so many deep feelings and just feels like it belongs to an entirely different series altogether.
I still stand by my belief that LWA should have been much longer, at least 3 seasons worth of episodes, and this soundtrack makes me feel even stronger about it.
The journey for the words, Croix, Ursula's past, and the anti-witch sentiment could have been so much better if it just had the time to be spread & fleshed out properly.

I enjoyed the series very much but now I'm going to always wonder what a longer, darker, OVA-like series could have been like.
