If it looks interesting for some reason, I'll read it. If it's not actually interesting or stops being interesting, I'll stop reading it. Why something is interesting is down to the individual merits of the manga and can't be simplified down to a nonsensical dichotomy like "art or story".

I pick up a shit ton of manga at the same time from just browsing catalogues or checking out OPT, then I just read series as Im in the mood for that kind of story. Im also able to enjoy mediocre manga if it scratches tge right itch at the right time

HxH has better art than Bleach.

Most important factor tends to be if it's completed or not. I hate having too many ongoing series to remember and keep up on so I like to picked finished ones to read. When I find ongoing series that seem interesting, I add them to a word file that I check annually to see if it's finished or not. Second most important factor is art. I'm not hugely picky on this and I like a wide range of styles, but if a series had god awful art then I won't read it. The only exception to that has been Angel Dentetsu. Final, but no less important factor is the story. As with art style, I have a pretty broad range that I'll take here, but a school or SOL manga is automatically a "no" from me because they're virtually always garbage or pinfully boring. After that its mostly up to the synopsis and reviews on whether I'll give the series a shot or not.

Reviews are actually pretty important for me, but I almost always only read critical reviews rather than the 5/5 ones that fellate the series as the best ever. Usually these will have valid criticisms of the story or art, and I can make a more informed decision on whether the series is worth my time or not despite the flaws.

Trying to prioritise one is stupid, both the art and story need to be functional for it to be entertaining to read. No amount of pretty images makes a dull plot interesting and genius writing is pointless if you can't read the art.

Neither, the one with the bad story would get boring really fast and the one with the shitty art would be a chore to read.
If I had to choose I'd go with HxH because I like yuyu hakusho and trying other stuff from an author you like is never a bad idea.

Why do people read manga in their native tounge? Im from Scandinavia and I can't even begin to imagine how lame everything would sound if it weren't English. Most phrases and expressions are just cooler sounding in English, while also giving you some practice in reading another language

I mostly look for a premise that looks neat, either SoL with quirks or tightly written arcs are fine. Art can be whatever so long as there's something going on.

Kubo is an insane character designer. It's basically the only thing that made me complete the first part of this manga. But yeah, this guy should just be an illustrator and let other people write scenario.

Though I think both arts and writings are importants. But sometimes, when one of them is completely overwhelming you can forgive if the other is weak. For me I tend to favorise great arts and decent story.

Berserk has stunning visual and good story imo but I prefered the darker tones of the early and mid parts to the more chilled arcs with his new companions. Though Caska's mind has great design, love it for the moment, I hope Miura will continue in this way

Blade of the Immortal has great arts and a very good character developpment. The first tomes are not very interesting but once the story takes it pace, it becomes top tier.

I also love Dorohedoro in that regard, very cool characters, original setting, incredible visuals at times...

There's more artistic creativity and symbolic weight in that single page than Bleach in its majority. Slapping "muh" doesn't help.

Nah, it's wrong. One test artists use to check if the eyes are symmetrical is to use a pencil. If it doesn't align then either your model has some funky eyes, or you botched it. It doesn't matter if you're squinting or even closing one eye, the eyeball itself doesn't shift position.

No, it's not - he placed lines at different vertical positions, and there's no vertical angle there, so if the lower lines work, then the top ones should as well.
