Honestly I forgot how was my thoughts on Oreimo and I have to rewatch it to give a fair judgement (that's not going to happen), but I can say that I enjoyed Eromanga a lot. The MC wasn't that bad, and all the fanservice was the right amount.

This. She should go full villain at first, instead of half-assing her plan to sabotage MC's works and just wanted MC to write for her. MC will defeat her in writing contest and then she became a member of his harem. That's much more straightforward than what happened in the anime. Yeah. Sagiri was clearly a kid with a fucked up parent. Her mother drew lewd shit in front of her daughter and gave her a smartphone to shut her up. It's no wonder she grew up to be like that. Then the accident happen and she went full hikki. MC was only trying his best to help his sister who's not living her life correctly.

Plenty of anime have cute girls. That's the lowest hurdle you could give the show. There's no sign of passion or effort or detail anywhere in the writing or direction. Not a single character left an impression or had a personality beyond their one or two gimmicks/archetype. The male MC is unsympathetic and manipulative and the LN/anime doesn't even try to explore the consequences of a middle schooler adopting a hikikomori lifestyle.
