The only changes made to the original are that they gain the knowledge of the events which their summoned copies lived through. They don't fully integrate the memories as if they lived them, but they do get the information as something akin to "written records," which they can peruse.

In Apocrypha's timeline, they summoned Ruler and supposedly, the grail isn't tainted so it should work as advertised.

What's with some of the funny-looking drawings in some parts of the fight this episode? It's like the effects animation were drawn with the brush tool enlarged in digital software and there's no shading at all. This is either some trendy thing going on with modern animation or the animators are lowering detail to finish their work on time.

Shakespeare is a good low-cost Buster buffer, though he's completely outclassed by Merlin in the meta.
Jack is among the best Assassins in the game and is highly valued for her stargen and ability to erase enemy buffs.
Spartacus is an amusing Zerker with some staying power, but like Shakes he's completely outclassed by higher star Servants, Herc in his case.
Mordred is also one of the better 5* Sabers and is in fact superior to chichue in every way, amusingly enough.
Vlad is also a great Berzerker, but he pretty much relies on Arts support for maximum effectiveness, usually Tamamao's.
Atalanta isn't bad, but she doesn't really bring much to the table aside from stargen.

Amusingly enough, Karna is probably the worst of them aside from Sumanai.
