no but really the whole thing is fucking stupid, remember when Goku put Gohan through incredibly strenuous training in the time chamber in order to make him reach super saiyan? all the pain, work and time they put into that, it turns out all he had to do was think of a tingly sensation in his back and he would've done it no problem (and hit SS2 instantly, apparently)

It's because they trained as proper warriors. Vegeta and his race were barbarians employed by Frieza. No one cared about each other, not even their own children.

Sadal people have a proper military with proper training. Their base power level is really strong because they haven't relied on ssj all their life. They're not uncultured barbarians who can only act on emotion.

U6 as a whole is just more advanced. Just take their Earth. They managed to blow themselves up through legit war. U7 Earth is incapable of such a feat outside of aliens. They probably had an army of android 17 and 18 fighting their war, while u7 can only make 2 of them.

When you have an adaption that has to stay from keeping up with the source material, it's common to add filler. However, there's a limit to adding filler to the point where ratings can be affected, and worse - the story ends up taking a turn for the worst. Naruto's filler hell is a good example of why adding too much is a bad idea, while HxH '99's is a good example of adding filler that doesn't detract from the story, but feels natural with the source material. Also it helps that Kurapika/Hisoka's fight happened in the manga, while the anime decided to make it an episode, one of the better episodes in my opinion of '99.

Z didn't do any of the above, but the five Namekian minutes and taking half an episode to power up don't do it any favors. It got so bad, Kai had to keep some of Z's fat in just so scenes wouldn't jump around instantly in a choppy mess. While Piccolo's driving test is fun, an entire arc's worth of those episodes will eventually grow old. A proper balance of filler and canon material are needed.

What disappoints me is that they didn't use Krillin's weakness as a weapon, like I predicted. Think about it, Goku vaguely commented on it while sparring with Krillin prior to the tournament but being weak is an advantage due to the rules. Remember that you can't kill anyone or it's an automatic DQ. Let's say that for example Jiren tries to attack Gohan, but Krillin jumps in to block his path. What will Jiren even do? It will be incredibly awkward for him because he will need to find a balance where his attacks are strong enough to knock this weakling out of the ring, but not strong enough to kill him. The problem with the "power incarnate- but mindless" archetype is that without the superficial skin and hair coloration differences they're completely the same. Rage Kale, the Hulk, Breserker; change the skin color and they're just the same "rawr smash everyone". The characters only have, well, character, once they move past that dynamic in some way and have personalities, behaviors,preferences, mannerisms etc that differentiate them. IMO, the most interesting thing about breserk characters is when they're not in that state, trying to deal with it in some manner, or have to some degree integrated their minds into that state so that the state isn't completely mindless.
