Final chapter got released. It's finally over, and I loved the ending.
Shut Hell survives and meets with Yurul about 10 years after she "died." Harabal helped her find him and in the process also managed to kill Genghis Khan. In the end, it is heavily implied that Shut Hell and Yurul are the ones responsible for starting the Yuan Dynasty.
So yes, they fuck and have kids
Random isekai "I finally reunited with you" bullshit. Girl who was Yurul in the past meets up with Japanese man Shut Hell.
As for the Yuan, a lot of cultural progress went on there and many dyansties afterwards acknowledged the Yuan as a legitimate empire. The Mongols did get kicked out in the end, but they did bring a lot of things since they loved Chinese culture. I mean Kublai is practically a fat Chinese guy in all of his pictures.
Yup, she appeared at the very beginning and now the very very end. It would have been acceptable if she had a reappearance the first time the guy went back to this normal time.
The whole modern part was pointless anyways.
BRAVO ITOH! BRAVO!
But still, couldn't you have given us a little more /ss/?
The ending was pretty good, which is surprising because there really arent a lot of series that have good endings
Wow what the hell, I kinda dropped it after the decapitation shenanigan, just couldn't bring myself to continue after that and I expected the ending to be really far away honestly
Mongols are scum. I wonder why the Ming didn't genocide them completely after what they did to the Chinese.
Zhuang Yuanzhang literally waged so many annihilation campaigns against the Yuan remnants, even driving them back to Mongolia and sacking Karakhoram. Why didn't they finish them off? Mongols are literally history's greatest niggers in terms of not building anything and only destroying and raping stuff.
Such a good trip throught this manga, /ss/ shall live!
Veronika reminds me of pic related
Not only did she survive, Shut Hell ended up becoming one of the greatest wives to the Khans in history.
Sorghaghtani Beki, who I assume she ended up becoming, was illiterate and taught her sons combat and politics. She also introduced Kublai to Confucian thought. Because of their mother, all of her sons were known for religion tolerane and didn't go on muder sprees massacring Christians and Muslims left and right.
In the end, Sorghaghtani Beki was known as an "extremely intelligent and able," and as "towering above all the women in the world."
So yeah, Shut Hell did pretty fucking well for herself.
I mean to drive the point home, the author even had a cover with her drawn in Mongolian wedding attire. I should've seen this coming.
Great manga that had a good run. Although I think the whole story could have been told without Sudou or Suzuki. Especially if Yurul and Shut Hell meet back up later in life anyway which kinda dampens their reunion in the present.
>I think the whole story could have been told without Sudou or Suzuki
I still think the time travel bodyjacking was silly and intrusive. Suzuki was a nonentity.
>Especially if Yurul and Shut Hell meet back up later in life
Pretty much this.
>declared the Yuan in the dynastic tradition becoming a actual Chinese Emperor instead of just a Mongol Khan who controls territory belonging to China
>consulted a Chinese scholar to help him choose the name Yuan
>appointed Chinese advisors to help him with Chinese court rituals and culture
>adopted the Chinese administrative system
>built palaces according to Chinese traditions
>built a temple to Confucius
>translated Chinese classics into Mongolian
>gave his sons had a Chinese education
>tried to introduce Chinese culture into the Mongolian elite
>was asked by the Mongolian elite to please stop promoting the Chinese culture so much because he was being so Chinaboo
Why was Kublai so Chinaboo
Because his mother raised him that way. She told him that assimilating was better and would piss off less people.
I'm not kidding, that's actually what happened and why the rest of Tolui's sons adopted the religion and culture of the places they conquered (i.e. the Ilkhanate and Yuan Dynasty)
I mean he was the son of the Khan in the first place. He spent the whole story trying to run away from that to save Tangut culture, but in the end, being the successor ended up being the way he saved its writing.
Yeah because Ogedai (the first son) royally fucked things up and was horrible at ruling. When he died, Tolui basically took over and focused on the East minus the constant raping and pillaging that the Mongols were customarily known for.
What nonsense. They rebuilt the Silk Road and established peace, economic prosperity and cultural exchange across the whole Eurasian steppe.
The only thing that really set them apart from other conquering peoples was that they just couldn't lose, so everyone hated them. For however long they were unified, at any rate.
Subutai could have probably taken over the whole continent if the next Khans let him.
I'm not surprised though.
>Jews cry about their 6 million
>whole world is hunting for Nazis to this day
>Japs killed 25 million Chinese
>America let Hirohito hold on his throne, reinstalled war-criminals into post war government, Abe, son of a 'pardoned' class-A war-criminals runs Japan these days.
I kinda want the Shut Hell Harabal sitcom.
I actually forgot about that. She was fucked non stop by a bunch of soldiers while she was captured. Honestly with the whole future plot line at the time I expected her to get pregnant from the rape and as a result end up giving birth to the bloodline that leads to Sudoh, while Yurul gives birth to a bloodline that leads to Suzuki. But it's more clear now that those two aren't descendants but reincarnations instead. With how it ended with Yurul and Shut Hell not only living but getting a happy ending together I feel like the whole future plot like was unnecessary.
That aside good series and a satisfying ending. Shame it never caught on on /a/.
I'm still not clear on whether the two characters in the future are reincarnations or descendants?
Really? I must have missed those threads then because I barely remember Shut Hell threads on here.
Haha I told you niggers two years ago that she'd be fine. Nobody believed me.
>just because she's on a magazine cover in tradition bridal dressing doesn't mean shit
Whoever said this, don't you look stupid now
She's magically died and rez'd so many times that she's not even the same person. I bet her hymen regrew.
Shit I forgot that happened near the beginning. I don't know why but the author really seemed to be into rape for drama sort of shit in the beginning but toned it down majorly as the story went on.
To be fair though, this was far before she went completely batshit insane. Plus, she got to get the shota dick and gave birth to a dynasty of Mongols so who's the real winner here?
What's the significance of not showing us Shut Hell's face?
It was more like to show that that's just how it was at that time. Rape was one of the Mongol's favorite pastimes. It would be more hard to believe that they kept a female prisoner and didn't stick their dicks inside her. I'm just happy that the author showed that aspect tastefully and didn't go full Wolf Guy.
She just walked it off and murdered a bunch of Mongols and it was never brought up again and she really didn't seem to give a shit about it. If anything, watching her friends rot on the wall was more traumatizing to her since she literally became a wolf after that point.
I liked that.
>implying any of those "achievements" come even remotely close to the destruction that mongols brought
If I had the power I would nuke what's left of the castrated nation of mongolia but thankfully they will kill themselves with alcohol before that
No. Yurul took the name of Tolui, son of Genghis Khan, who was often cited by many to be the greatest warrior and leader of the brothers.
His sons were Möngke, Kublai, Hulagu, and Ariq Böke. All were from the same mother whose name is Sorghaghtani Beki is often said to be the greatest female leader in the Mongol dynasty as she set her sons up to eventually carry out and succeed Genghis Khan's dynasty.
>Doesn't look like I can write about you yet...
>There was a not with the copies.
>Said that he loved you.
>And here that's what I wanted to write
Did the translator have a stroke?
All the khans had side-hoes. But they also had cool wives.
In fact Genghis himself had his first wife named Börte, who was the Grand Empress, managing much of the mongol homeland, while he was away conquering shit.
She also gave him 4 sons and 5 daughters, one of which was Tolui.
It's kinda strange that the manga never really mentions her, since she's kind of a big deal in most other works featuring Genghis Khan.
Is it fully scanlated? im 'bout to read this shit asap if it is. Also, now that it's over, what are the chances the author will continue adapting(?) Koukoku no Shugosha?
>This woman is the queen and ancestor to the Yuan Dynasty
It is. It is easily one of the best manga I've read but I'm a sucker for historical stuff, so there's that.
>Harabal kills Genghis Khan just so his little brother can get with his undead she-wolf demon wife
Best brother ever
