The Dharani scans look better than just about anything but the highest quality digital raws, and the translation is more readable than the vast majority of isekai translations. Whatever deeply offends you about these scans, it should definitely turn you off from reading isekai and most manga in general altogether.

Isekai just refers to the genre where the protagonist is transported to a "different world" the thing is, his own world but in the past (or future) is a kind of different world, and even laughably advanced video-games can kind of count as "different worlds". Old and influential western stories like a Princess of mars are pretty much Isekai.

But New Saga is on unsteady ground because his "new world" is pretty much his own world, though in-story it's considered a "parallel world" that just matches his own.

I'm currently reading another where the MC doesn't remember his previous life either, but he had a bit of a flashback in a dream and he discovered a new ability because of it, though he still doesn't understand it. He is currently adventuring and trying to find out more about his dream. It's pretty much just fantasy, but technically isekai (though the flashback may be more important later)

All I'm saying is that categorizing series by cosmetic details rather than thematic ones doesn't really make sense to me. Sure, the MC in Tsuyokute New Saga was from the same world to begin with, but the general archetyping of the world and characters seems to fit with other isekai. It's just that instead of utilizing knowledge gleaned from another world to manipulate events and unreasonably boost his growth, the MC uses knowledge from before he time traveled. Both are "previous lives" in a sense so I don't see why it should matter.

The general premise of the character and setting isn't really a "cosmetic detail". New Saga has much of the same characteristics modern isekai have, but you have to understand that isekai are more than the overused tropes of modern isekai.

New Saga is on a grey area for me, I don't know how to categorize it, though the story itself technically says it's isekai. But a lot of people take severe offense to saying any time travel at all is isekai.

Is there a comprehensive list of isekai info somewhere, perhaps with tags? I'd like it if it was easier to tell whether the character(s) who changed worlds are simply in another world, or if they actually put their knowledge from the other world to use and that is relevant to the plot. If they're simply thrust into a fantasy setting and that setting is what drives everything, it makes the isekai factor seem really superficial so why even bother with it?

Has anyone read Only Sense Online? I've enjoyed the manga so far, I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed rather comfy so I'm wondering how good the LN is compared to it.

The manga is super cliche but not too heavy-handed with the setting or obnoxious with the characters. The only complaints I can find is the slower pacing and frequent blocktext dialogue, but I figure those would be better in the LN version right?
