Who's the EDGIEST /a/ character?
Honestly I've seen a TON of edgy but who takes the cake here?
you called me op?
>who takes the cake
Probably not the edgiest, but its because he goes so far out of his way to try to be edgier than he really is.
At one point, chewing on the finger of a person he killed.
But he is not edgy, he isn't planning to kill everyone because of some edgieness, he just wants to live a fucking peacefull life, instead he gets cucked whole time, this guy is more about logic and not about edge
The toplist would be:
Light, Lelouch, Shieldhero, Goblinslayer, Accelerator, Kaneki, Itachi, Zeref, Pain
someone of those I guess
Edgiest character and edgiest show
>no character development AT ALL
>random cool edgelords are added at the drop of hat and killed off immediately after (e.g. Luke Valentine, Tubalcain Alhambra, etc.)
>They went for the most fedora and cliché variation of "the church is fucking evil :^)"
The epitome of style over substance
fucking losers do not know true edge
the fuck outta here kids
I actually did read the manga. Do you mean that the manga is somewhat light-hearted for a brief moment early on? Or are you somehow implying that the Nazis in London arc is somehow less edgy? The Major is literally the author's edgy self-insert.
Also it gets even edgier during the end, the church suddenly wants to purge London in a crusade against protestants (?) and does so in the fashion a paramilitary organization (which the Anglican Church also is)
>there are people on /a/ who actually defend Hellsing, a show made for literal 15 years olds that actually unironically embodies the Naruto "entry level" and DARKNESS pasta
What happened to this fucking place
This seems a bit too self-aware to actually tick me off
If you didn't have the bystander reactions and the shit-eating grin on the last panel maybe it'd register as true edge with me
I literally just said the series is very edgy, which is every point you're trying to make. Your problem is that /v/ has conditioned you to think that's synonymous with 'bad', but if you actually think for a second you'll realize that you're basing your entire opinion on a buzzword propagated mostly by complete retards.
The series has a great deal of redeeming qualities in it's thematic consistency and, contrary to your prior assertion, sees a lot of character development in most of the main cast. Alucard is gradually shown to have a strict set of values and beliefs that make up the backbone of the manga's tone, things like what makes a man and a monster. Seras grows into a confident and respectable level-headed woman. Anderson goes from indignant psychosis to abandoning his humanity out of a deeply seeded desire to be the holy storm instead of a man imitating it. And as groanworthy as "the church is evil" trope has become in this instance it isn't the church being evil so much as it's just Enrico being a fucking lunatic with way too much power. Almost all of the other Catholics, while some kind of crazy and violent, were all still fighting for righteousness.
None of the points you make have any real merit to them and show you either read it long ago or just didn't pay attention. If you can't see the strong points of the series just because it's famous for being a balls to the wall gorefest, that's not the manga's problem. It's yours.
Yes yes, I remember turning 18 too and getting swept up in the "I'm literally more mature than everyone else on the planet, I'm too grown up and adult for edgy trash like Hellsing" phase. But some years after that I actually grew up for real and learned to appreciate different things for all their highs and lows. A second reading/viewing revealed more complexity in the narrative than I remembered, by no means tantamount to Hemingway but for a stylistic bloodbath it actually has quite a bit of substance to it.
I wouldn't call Goblinslayer edgy. Sure he wants to exterminate all the Goblins but he's got a really fucking good reason to do it. Plus outside of his job he seems to be a nice guy if a little awkward.
He's so edgy he made the former edgemaster cried
Has you're waifu killed 10000+ people? Didn't think so
Sakura falls in love with Sasuke. Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the edgelord's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, she immediately calls him, and is overjoyed to find out that he has a crush on her as well. But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the boy, he only unsheathes his katana (folded x 100000000).
After some investigation, she finds out that the boya she called is not the same edgelord he fell in love with. In fact, he doesn't exist in this universe at all. he is the boy's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of his crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their DARKNESS, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons (like katanas) they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NARUTO of DARKNESS.
pic related is an edgelord

I sorely regret my time watching this series
his lyrics are pretty edgy is you ask me
