It's pretty relaxing.
Fujoshis love it for cute guys, normal people love it for cute episodic youkai, relaxing Mushishi-like plot and generally universal themes like family, people relationships etc.
The pacing of the main plot is way too slow, though. The fanfic is better, anyway. :^)
