Yes there's tons of spells and skills that could help vs. projectiles.

Spells: shielding, decoy, agility up, regen, immunities against project effects (e.g. poison), confuse/accuracy down ...

Skills: Perception (AKA do your fucking job Yume), stack luck on the thief, auto-revive for priest, endure for warriors ...

Gear: plate armor, shields, magic shield or warning amulets ...

The most retarded part is that they don't have any real counters against ranged opponents since they have a Hunter that can't detect and counter-snipe for shit and a mage that can't properly nuke ranged hostiles.

She just gets some new melee skills. She doesn't really change her behavior much. Also this is volume 5 stuff. I don't know about anything passed that.

I don't care about who the characters are. Characters in fantasy are just the vehicle for the storytelling of the setting, which doesn't seem to even cover five kingdoms or ten cities. On the other hand, if you kill too many characters (especially the main cast) too often, it can alienate the readers.

Worse, it seems like Grimgar isn't even a legitimate isekai or a legitimate fantasy. It's a false isekai as this aspect was only teased at but not really focused on. It's a false fantasy because the setting is claustrophobic. Compare this to Kyou Kara Maou, an actual isekai fantasy LN.
