Well, she's just a normal soldier of exceptional skill. She doesn't have titan powers or Ackerpowers, she made it into the elite teams through skill. She could have been a high ranking scout, but she just joined the Garrison presumably so she wouldn't die an early death. But when the titans came knocking, she jumped into the fray when ordered too. She lost her entire squad and most of her comrades at Trost to ensure that Eren could plug the wall. When Zeke invaded, her newly formed elite teams were a first response unit that again kept the titans at bay. When the scouts went over the wall to chase BRY she was there to receive them with medical aid, when they set out for Shiganshina she kept vigil on top of the wall in case of an attack.

I like her because, out of everyone, she's the only character that really seems realistic ace feels human.

I guess. But I think that Miura recovered from that. Berserk is supposed to somewhat mirror stuff that Miura saw in his life, and Guts (and Griffith) have some of Miura in them, as he said in an interview.
The recent chapters have Guts talking about how he's grateful for his new companions, how sharing the workload of taking care of Casca helped him, etc.
And Miura had something similar happen with him. He used to work alone, was overworked as fuck, had health problems, had those long hiatus, etc... But now he has a team of artists helping him with the manga.
Yeah, we're experiencing another hiatus now, but these are scars of what he'd done to his own health in the past.
