How would you have fixed the second half of Gantz?

Make this arc longer than 2 chapters.
Remove the god aliens
Kill Tae
Keep Reika alive

for starters, don't bring up new plotlines that are never resolved like the vampire shit

Remove vampires, kept all the crazy stuff, continue explaining nothing, invasion arc without the social commentary and less "Kei-Chan - Tae-chan". The ending is ok.

It was just anti-climatically. They were aliens, all but 2 were killed and they gave up after the Osaka arc.

Kurono stays dead, kill Kato because he can't have character progression. Vampire arc, Gantz creators arc. Kill early on a bunch of people from the Tokyo Team, introduce new characters with dubious morals. New main protagonist. Catastrophe arc with actual good looking aliens and not humanoid aliens and copy pasted robots.

And the most imporant thing of all, give the mangaka time to develop his manga and watch more american movies, he clearly ran out of ideas at the end of the manga and his designs just got worse.

yeah a 5 years hiatus could have been pretty good, it could have ended like the last year with actually good monsters, new weapons, madman characters and all the things that made gantz cool.

It wasn't that bad, everyone just felt ripped off by the rushed ending (which it clearly was). An epilogue would've been nice

I was surprised that he revealed, what, four new pieces of gear in one arc? He could have played with that in subsequent arcs, slowly revealing them, introducing tension because Nishi said in one chapter that gear and shit was going to be decisive in the final battle...at the end Kurono got every piece of gear for free.
