I resorted to drawing facial features (eyebrows, mouth and eyes) independently without a faces to see which combination makes up for the best expression. Good on you, keep at it. As for Suzuki, he's a veteran and has been doing it for a living for years. I'm somewhat in awe at how good he is at the basics, such as paneling, conveying motion, scenery and so on, yet his style also seems "cost efficient", which probably helps him do this massive amount of stuff on a weekly basis, with just him and his wife.
