Oh, I'm not complaining about the BRA stuff. That's fine by me and it helped shake things up a lot. But the manga as it is basically leaves the titans --the thing the series is about-- with nothing else we can know about. Before that the titans as a thing were mysterious, absurd monsters but now they're simply weapons for yet another evil government. There's nothing scary or exciting about the story anymore besides the fate of the characters. Even what was going on with Mikasa was solved with a simple comment of "titan research", even though it was kind of a big deal at the start of the manga.

I mean, besides where the titan powers really came and the warhammer titan what is there that we don't know about the world?

The revelation about the 9th titan and the Tieber clan makes sense, considering that for the past several chapters, the whole focus on Marley concerned only the military, the Eldian ghettos, the discrimination of Marleyans against Eldians, the purging of Eldian royalty, and the distortion of the true history of the world.

Up to this point, there was no discussion about the Marleyan government and royalty (if any). So it makes sense from a storytelling perspective. It's always been about the military. From what I can tell, after Historia was crowned queen and the Survey Corps finally got to see the ocean. The story is currently on pause because Marley is getting some exposure. Oh and Eren is possibly infiltrating the capital as a homeless person.

Why doesn't someone explain the situation to the Islanders? I'm sure they would be horrified to know their ancestors caused atrocities and side with Marley since the opposing nations hate Eldians and it's only Marley who are giving them honorees.

For me the thing that made me a little uninterested about the manga was how they imported only the"map" from the real world and made it up side down and came up with the origin story of the titan as something that happened 1900 years ago.
There's no real wotld countries/cultures and religions and apparantly Ymir is the jesus of that world(in the manga titans first appeared around 1900 years ago which makes sense since they use world war I equipement).
I kinda like the way Berserk/Miura handles its world building wih europe being the setting of the show and the countries in the manga even if they have different names they still act like they real world counterparts like the kushan empire and the midland/holy roman empire connection.

Isayama really is bad when it comes to his artstyle/drawing and I used to think the way he was slowly building the world but not outright expose it to us and make it mysterious to us was cool.It looks like he his rushing things and just wants to get it over with.
He could have distributed the world better to different cultures and such(giving probably the whole american,european and african continent is laughable when you see that it was very difficult for real world empires to conquer such large sized regions.
Can't wait for us to see our heroes embark to eastern asia go to japan and finding out that the japanese are badasses that can all transform to titans and how they are the chosen people.
You can even taste it when the "owl" looked at the ocean,mentioned mikasa names and you see a rising sun.
