I watched from 1 - 700, and it barely changes, just a case of the week thing every single week, but around 400 and 500 they add a background plot but it fucking no where. It's with the watch if are enjoying the current formula, just don't expect it to change.

There are two points I'd like to make:

Sure, you get the basic formula out of it: the whodunnits and the howdunnits. But the plot, which some will lead you to believe does not exist, is indeed touch and go in these first 5 seasons.

>The more you put in, the more you get out
Now that you're forming your opinion of the series starting from episode 6, you can now take it in chunks. Having just completed the Conan arc (the first 5 seasons) you move into the Haibara arc until the 170s and the Vermouth arc until 345. 345 being the episode you should reach before considering dropping the show (skip AO if you must).

Sound like a tall order? Indeed, the series now has a pretty big cast and a few moving parts. It all builds up to a climax at 345 to start its roll again until the early 500s and the late 700s.

Congratulations, you have now given Conan a fair shake and can walk away without people egging you forward.
