Just watched the first episode, and it was good. Loved the main cast and their chemistry, the art is okay, but the action was a bit underwhelming. Didn't known that it was a sequel, tho.

Not really, this starts after the end of Saiyuki reload Manga, after the battle with ukoku Sanzo.
