Shindo should've had some intense, philosophical, red pilled negotiation with zashunina where they both bring up valid points and keep knocking down each other's arguments. It wouldve then ended with zashunina either agreeing to leave and taking the devices with him, or staying. I watched this anime completely blind without taking a single glance at the threads on /a/. Didn't care much for the homo pandering, but didn't mind it either. I completely fell in love with Saraka and wanted to see more of her, she seemed like an interesting "other side" to the argument for the advancement of humanity. Her speech in episode 8, while I didn't really agree with it, was well done. Saraka was a likeable character and a total cutie.

Then episode 9 came and ruined nearly everything. Really, why the fuck was it necessary to make Saraka an alien? I liked her as a human, not as a demi-god. Then the show took a huge turn for the retarded after that and completely shit the bed for its finale, betraying its own messages about negotiation and communication that it spent half the series building up on.

I came to see the threads on /a/ when I finished the show and half the posts were just dumb shit like "fujoshits btfo". Really?
