Fruit vs Fruit matchups are a factor here but so is powerscaling. Remember, Cracker fought Luffy in a perpetual G4 state for half a day while having to deal with the fact his fruit was being weakened as well as utilized against him as caloric energy. Considering the damage to the tea party attributed by Big Mom onto the Straw Hat pirates, it's highly likely that they would feel some repercussions if they simply escape. It was they who initially provided the intel of the Baratie to Judge, so it's safe to say they'd know how to get back at Sanji, which is something Big Mom has been shown to do if her tea party plans are interfered with.

One idea to combat that which I liked was the idea that Big Mom would be too busy actively pursuing them in the New World to divert attention to their loved ones. Looking to get direct revenge on the source of her woes. That would allow them to simply escape, however it would put the Straw Hat's plan against Kaido under heavy strain as they'd have the possibility of Big Mom seeking revenge whilst they deal with another Yonko. That's a recipe for disaster right there.

As it stands it's still unclear what approach Oda is likely to take. Even in this most recent chapter there's characters of two minds on what to do, in tandem with the outstanding variables that could play a massive part in solving the current problems, including Pudding and the Tamatebako box.

Baron Tamago was the one who introduced both the wrist shackles and the existence of Zeff to Judge. I think it's fair to say that Big Mom has the resources to find those close to named individuals and take revenge, should she see fit. Wrecking the tea party then fleeing would be ample incentive to do something like that. It's certainly not guaranteed that's how she would respond, but it's such an accessible option that it has to be considered.

Enter pic related: how are the strawhats going to deal with this aspect when thrust against Kaidou in the "ultimate war" that has been so heavily foreshadowed? By somehow absorbing Big Mom's territory and crew. Luffy will kick her ass and announce that Fishman Island is his territory and probably the rest of it as well.

Remember, BM doesn't even really need to be defeated. Her dream is completely compatible with Luffy's, she doesn't really seem like she wants to be PK, she just has that dumb dream about sitting eye level at the table with everyone.

To be honest I think Doffy was reinforcing the birdcage over reinforcing himself. But he's just that strong that even putting all those resources into fucking everyone's shit up he's still a powerful fucker.

I still think people just aren't aware how strong Oda set up Doflamingo to be. He needed to be tandem attacked just to weaken him slightly, and he was still ridiculously powerful the arc. Doflamingo was a serious piece of work, and it was only Luffy's allies that made that miracle of defeating such a monster possible

This has always been Luffy's thing, it's not just his strength it's that he gets others to help him really easily

As far as we know in the manga, the assassination and presentation of a head is a punishment used for someone Big Mom invited to her tea party that didn't follow her iron-clad plans, for whatever reason. Given what the Straw Hats have done to the tea party I think it's fair to suggest that she would be willing to use such a punishment in tandem with trying to get direct revenge on them, given she can delegate those tasks to subordinates of much less stature and still have the task reliably performed. There's no guarentee that'd be the case, but it's foolish to shrug off the high possibility of Big Mom being vindictive if and when the Straw Hats manage to get off WCI.

Reiju is also a pretty unreliable narrator on the motives of Big Mom. She may have been telling the truth at the time, but I think the events of the tea party are by far enough to alter Big Mom's outlook on seeking revenge, especially given they already know of Zeff and Kamabakka Kingdom's connection to Sanji.

There's still so many ways events could down so as to avoid such an issue, but a hard escape has to come with the recognition that repercussions are on the table for the present Straw Hats loved ones if they then don't deal with the Big Mom issue succinctly. A task that would be incredibly difficult with their war on Kaido on the horizon.

There's still a lot of issues, even with the use of Pudding's abilities. But she's definitely the best bet of dealing with Big Mom, who would likely then be enough to deal with the other Big Mom pirates, even if their memories are intact.

This week seems like the golden time to show what direction the escape plan is going to go towards, given it's been unclear in the previous weeks how the alliance and Germa were going to deal with such a hopeless looking situation.

True, though I wouldn't really attribute that sort of behaviour to the Straw Hats. Luffy wouldn't want to do it as it's dishonorable and Sanji wouldn't want to as it's not chivalrous. They're the only Straw Hats who can get to her at the current time, so I don't see that happening; though it's not impossible. Pudding herself could even be the one to suggest it if she's having a change of heart about the whole situation, which we'd need to see developed if so.

The Germa are another option that could pull that off, but again they're current focused entirely on escorting Bege, not capturing Pudding. Perhaps Judge could pull it off? That'd make for a weird situation, interesting too.

Maybe there are different ways to interprest the poneglyphs? Considering Luffy has the VOAT and Robin can read them, perhaps if Pudding joined and used her ability we would get a "complete" idea of what the poneglyphs truly mean and that would lead the SH's to a different conclusion than that of the Roger crew.

She's clearly expressed interest in being the Pirate Queen, but it's debatable how committed to that idea she is, given she doesn't come across as actively pursuing the other ponelgyphs. You could argue that if and when Pudding displayed an ability to read them she would then focus her efforts on it, but I'm not so sure. Either way, she does at least care about it.

She definitely cares about Pudding as a tool though, though it's unclear how much she actually cares for her children outside of their use to her. Pudding is one of her most important children and one of her personal favourites to boot, there's little reason to think she wouldn't care about her or her well being, even in the wake of her failure to execute Sanji. She's just too valuable to ignore.
