Since the difference between them in the image is pretty large even though they are standing fairly close to one another Nakaba seems to have messed up the perspective a little. The two gods are standing even further back and are still about 5-6 times as tall as the slightly forward leaning Mel so I'd estimate they are somewhere between 10-15m(50-75 feet) with the goddess being on the lower end and the demon on the upper end. Gowther's dead and was too weak to fight Zeldris or keep the demon king from imprisoning him in the first place. He already has a big role as Gowther's dad and the guy who ended the holy war, no need to make him any more relevant than that. As for Gael it's hard to say at this point since we don't know anything about him. Ludociel was hyped as the strongest archangel and even then wasn't all that special so I don't know how Gael could be the final boss. I think the parents are the best bet simply because this is Mel's story and they are his main opposition. Not to mention Nakaba is a fan of old jrpgs where gods or demons as final bosses is a staple of the genre. I bet Nakaba wants to 1-up that with a double boss fight against both gods and demons.

What happened between the two flashbacks? The fact that OG Gowther and doll Gowther were both in the ruins of the forest suggests that the holy war ended almost immediately after the Dolor and Glox flashback, but if that's the case then how did Dolor, Glox and Fraudrin become accepted as members of the commandments? I guess it's possible that the Demon King and Supreme Deity both arrived soon after the flashback to curse Mel and Eli and then the Demon King was informed by Zeldris about OG Gowther's betrayal and made Dolor, Glox and Fraudrin into commandments. After that the remaining commandments and archangels arrived to finish things and they all got sealed/weakened by Gowther's trickery or the goddesses pulling a fast one on the demons.

He can do great looking scenery with relatively few strokes in a Bob Ross kind of way, instead of opting for some faux realism that ends up looking half-assed or forgettable if you don't put in endless effort.
