They don't normally do anime. FLCL was kind of a weird one off for them, and it was just licensing out older songs they already did besides Ride on Shooting Star, I think.. In Japan they were already pretty popular and after FLCL did a few US tours here and there but never got big state-side. The design is good, it plays with the same thing that made Naota decent, which was a completely looking normal boy with a single feature that was slightly odd.
For Naota it was his horn that forced him to wear caps/bandages in the middle of his forehead, it symbolized his sexual growth in contraposition to his childness.
Meanwhile, in this girl is the opposite, she seems mature but has no problems wearing shitty ass chuuni headphones in public, making a display of childness, she's probably an opposite character: a girl that doesn't want to grow up for some reason.
It's genius, I can say that it's already AOTY.
